We stood under the bridge for a while, and eventually we headed home. It was really dark at this point, and we had to climb up the side of the hill and onto the footpath. Even though, it was approximately 10pm, there were still many cars all over the road and people walking around on the path. Mind you, that was a normal nightlife in Seoul. People were always on the street, no matter what time of the day. The nightlife was almost just as busy as the day.
"Thank you." I said quietly. He looked at me confused. I don't think he realised what I was thanking him for.
"For what?" He questioned. I looked back to the path and chuckled.
"For being my best friend. No one would be my friend, and everyone told me I was worthless, I hated myself... you came and showed me that I was worth it. So... thank you." I smiled and looked back at him. He shoved me lightly.
"Oh come on, Siha!! Cut it with the heartwarming crap!!" He bleated laughing. I began to laugh loudly too. Everyone walking began to stare at us, as if we had the plague or something. I didn't really care at all to be honest.
It was a while and we finally reached my home.
"Thanks for walking with me." He smiled, and waved as I walked towards my door. I turned to face him.
"See you tomorrow afternoon!" I giggled. He smiled.
"Alright, see you then! Oh, and we can go drop off your music tomorrow." I smiled and nodded, as he turned and walked away.
Opening the door to my house, I walked into the dark hallway.
"They must be asleep." I muttered to myself, tiptoeing through the hall trying not to wake anyone. All of a sudden, out of nowhere I heard someone clear their throat. Uh oh...
"Excuse me, Park Siha, where the hell have you been?" The person questioned. I turned slowly and smiled as the light turned on. I laughed nervously.
"Eomma!! I was just-" I began to say before she cut in.
"Were you hanging around that stupid boy-oh what's his name- EunSa again? You know I hate that boy!! He always encourages you to do such stupid things!! What if you hadn't returned home tonight?! I would've wasted my time looking for you, and for what? To find out you were trashing something again? To find out you were arrested? I don't think so! You doing this sort of stuff is disgraceful to your family name! You are not to hang around that boy ever again!" She scolded. I moved backward a little.
"B-But Eomma! Rex is my best, and only, friend!!" I shouted at her in anger.
"Listen to her, you idiot. I had to wait for you for ages back at the library!! I thought you were kidnapped you dumbass!" Another voice shouted. I turned around to see my sister. She was wearing a full coverage face mask (which made her look like a monster) and had her hair dyed light brown tied in a messy bun on the top of her head.
"Why do you care? You pretend I don't even exist! We used to be best friends at school!! But you started hanging around with that Jinyu, and treated me like shit! Don't pretend you're any better, Chaeyong!" I shouted back at her. My mother stood between us.
"That's enough! Both of you to your rooms. I don't want to hear another word of it. Oh, and Siha?" She looked at me.
"What?" I grumbled.
"You're grounded."
I lay on my bed kicking my legs in the air, as the sun bleated onto my bare skin through the window. I was bored. It was Sunday. My only day off from school, and I'm stuck at home. I wanted to hang out with my friend today, but i got grounded for coming home late. I swear, I can't get away with anything in my house. Not being able to leave my room, or make music was a sentence from the depths of hell. Glancing at the ripped wallpaper on the wall, I groaned loudly putting my hands over my face. Frustration building by the minute. My phone then started to vibrate on my desk which sat next to me. Rolling over with another loud groan, I picked it up and looked at the sender. Rex.
