Haley and I spent the early morning composing plans to cast Kylel out of Windsor. We argued nonstop for hours until we came to a mutual agreement on a scheme that would bring the least harm to Kylel.
I returned home that evening and asked Kylel to accompany me for a special surprise at the park. Trust was his biggest flaw. Somewhere deep down, Kylel still withheld a sense of duty to help humans. It was his nature to do so. There may have been more to it than even nature. It was carved into his very being. He had boasted humanity's privileges for as long as I could remember, but there was definitely a reason why. I used to ask myself how was it that Kylel seemed more human than I was and I didn't have an answer to give. Maybe he was a very powerful and respected angel at one point who had gradually infatuated himself with humans the longer he assisted them. We called that 'normal' here on Earth, but where Kylel was from, it was 'abominable'.
Kylel and I used the same sidewalk to cross several streets until night fell and the clouds grew thick. He swung my hand excitedly the entire time.
"Give me a hint."
"Nope. It's called a surprise for a reason."
"Aww, you're no fun. Just wait until I get this body. We'll be able to have all sorts of fun."
"I believe you."
We stopped when we reached the local park. The facility was closed, as expected after eight. The large metal gates blocked the only entrance. Haley was leaned beside it, mid-finished with a text on her phone when she spotted me.
"Hey Christ---"
She stared at Kylel in disbelief.
"Dear Lord..."
Haley was the only other person who could see him. After two whole months, somebody else could finally see Kylel.
"Unreal," Haley whispered. She was the most devout christian I knew, yet she had never encountered a spirit before. For her to be able to see Kylel confirmed how serious my predicament was.
Kylel frowned and turned towards me. "Who is this girl? You told me there would be a surprise here."
"We do, it's in the park. We just need to get across," I said.
Kylel studied me as I crawled up and over the gate.
"Alright, come on Haley."
"Don't trouble yourself," Kylel comforted, grabbing Haley's waist and springing them over the gate like it was a jump rope. He landed safely with Haley in his arms.
"See? That wasn't too bad, right?"
Haley gagged from the head rush.
Once we were in, we walked serenely through the dark. An abandoned playground was barely visible in the distance. The atmosphere was cold and desolate, appearing more so at night. Kylel held my hand as we walked and Haley took careful notice of this.
"So... Kylel, it's very nice to meet you," she said.
Kylel gave a warm grin. It was the kind of grin that people expressed to those they knew---to family.
"Hello there, little one."
I put on a fake smile. "This was the surprise. I needed Haley to help me with it. We found a way to complete your physical form."
Kylel looked at us with jubilant eyes.
"R-Really?! That's wonderful! But how are you going to do that?"
I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"It's just up ahead. The surprise is near the soccer field."Kylel raised a brow, but believed me nevertheless. As we traveled closer to our destination, the night grew exceptionally dark. We might have been lost without Haley's flashlight.
