They met their freshman year in choir. Both of them could have been considered unpopular since they had a tendency to make conversations awkward real quick. It was almost as if they were supposed to be together as every time one would talk to their classmates they would hear "you're just like that kid Josh Ramsay" or "You're just like that kid Matt Webb".

Josh was the one who talked to Matt first. He told him that his singing was great and ever since, the two were joined at the hip. Matt followed Josh for the most part. He though Josh was cool because he could sing, play many instuments, and most importantly did drugs. It facinated Matt to no end to watch Josh take a drag out of a cigarette or talk about his last dose of heroin. It was the most interesting thing anyone he ever met did.

Josh knew of Matt's adoration for his drug use and that's partially what kept him going. He liked the way the boy would look at his blackened veins or the cancer stick in between his lips. He wanted Matt's eyes to always be on him so he kept it up. He hated the way he felt afterwards but he wasn't ever going to quit. He would do anything for Matt's attention
