Matt sat on Josh's sofa, wrapped securely in one Josh's hoodies that smelt of cigarettes and Old Spice. He was alone since Josh was working late, singing for a young couple's wedding. For some reason, Matt thought the best possible way to wait for his boyfriend in his old apartment was to watch a movie about a psycho man killing a young girl who was waiting for her boyfriend at his house. He managed to forget about his fear of blood and knives when he chose to watch the movie as well.
It was nearing midnight and a loud clap of thunder sounded before heavy rain started pouring from the sky. The girl on the television screamed as the murderer stabbed her repeatedly, making Matt scream just as loud. He wanted to change the channel and hide but he was too afraid. The remote was in the kitchen where he left it and the kitchen was too close to the flimsy front door that couldn't possibly keep out a murderer. The rain outside turned to hail as the on screen protagonist's boyfriend finally walked into the door only to have his throat slit, the credits rolling seconds afterwards.
Matt was now Beyond scared. All the wanted was for Josh to come home and hold him but he was busy entertaining. All he had was a worn black hoodie to make him feel safe. Matt sniffed at the faded material, finding some comfort in it while preparing himself for the next scary movie about college kids that was about to start. The sound of keys in a lock startled Matt a he braced himself for a murderer to appear but instead a sopping wet Josh came in.
"Grab the remote!" Matt yelled before Josh could even take his shoes off.
"Why can't you get it?" Josh irritably asked. He was tired and soaked and just wanted to go to bed.
"I'm scared." Matt whispered and Josh couldn't help but smile. Here his grown boyfriend was, curled up on his sofa in his hoodie cowering in fear. Josh didn't grab the remote but manually turned the television off.
"Hey!" Matt yelled, more afraid of the dark than angry than the Television being turned off. But then Josh's arms were wrapped around him and he was lifted up.
"Let's go to sleep babe, I'll keep you safe in bed." Josh mumbled nodded, wrapping his arms around Josh's neck and pulling him in for a kiss.
"I'm really happy that I have you." He said with a smile Josh could barely make out in the dark. Another clap of thunder boomed and Matt screamed and grabbed onto Josh even tighter, making the taller of the two burst out in laughter.
"You're such a fucking baby."
