the next morning nikki wakes up early so she can get ready and run some errands before we head out to watch the boys play. on her way out she says bye to my mom and tells me she'll see me in a few hours.
once she's gone, i turn to my mom and let her know that i'll be going out soon and won't be home until late tonight. ever since my mom got the courage to leave my dad our life has been so much easier. we're not walking on eggshells anymore trying to avoid making him mad, and i'm so grateful for that. my mom is my best friend, my biggest fan, my literal everything and i'm so thankful she took us out of that situation no matter how much she loved my dad, she knew what was best for us. she trusts that i'll make the right choices, she doesn't totally neglect me and let me go buckwild she still has rules that i abide by. we've built a strong relationship with each other and the trust is strong.
