"I've been here for almost three weeks now. When am I going to be discharged?" Sophia groaned in frustration. "Don't even think of feeding me that. It tastes like horse shit." She exclaimed. "Have you ever tasted horse shit?" Rowan countered. "Don't try me Mendoza. You will not like the outcome. Take that away." "Either you eat this or stay another week in the hospital." He challenged.

Rowan loved teasing Sophia. He loved the more relaxed her and he hoped she would be like this now that her enemies had been eradicated. "I want to show you something. Just have an open mind when I do." He said and stood up.

Sophia was confused but kept quiet as she observed Rowan open the door and the last person she wanted to see entered. "What do you want?" She spat and Rowan quietly slipped out to give them both time.

"Damn brother. You're glowing. Didn't know men nowadays glowed." Damian smirked. "Shut it." He snarked. He chuckled. "What made you actually leave Sophia's room for once. We actually thought you had resigned as CEO and taken a job as her personal bodyguard." Damian wiggled his brows. "With that banging body, who wouldn't want to guard it." "You better shut your mouth before I smash your teeth right in. She's mine. Find your own."

Damian raised his hands in surrender. "Gross dude. She's my cousin. No need to go all caveman. I'm not interested in her. I have my eyes set one someone else." "Good for you." Rowan remarked and left.

Helen felt as if she was in front of a judge ready to be given penalty as execution with the way Sophia was glaring at her. Her eyes were cold and distant. "I'm not some monument that you'll stare at the whole day. State your piece." Sophia barked.

"I hope that you can one day forgive me my child. I was young and foolish-" "Stop right there. I'm also young and I'm sure as hell ain't foolish. Use a better excuse next time. I would not even start what your foolishness cost us. You know why I'm happy? It's because I didn't turn out to be like you. I didn't need a man or men in your case to help me out poverty."

"I had alot going on. Life was very hard with all the mistreatment. I loved Ty not his twin but Robert didn't take the hint. I wanted to break things off but he wouldn't agree. I'm really sorry Sophia. Please forgive me. I'm still your mother." She made a move to touch Sophia's hands.

"Mother?" She laughed humourlessly, "You have the audacity to call yourself a mother? You don't even know what I went through in the arms of Daniel. When I saw you that night pathetically seducing him I was repulsed and later when I found out you were pregnant I vowed to take that child with me. And I thank God I did. I don't regret what I did. Talking to you makes me want to strangle and slit your throat with a doctor's scalpel. Please leave."

"Sophia-" "Helen." She reluctantly left with a heavy heart. "Will she ever forgive me?" She cried silently after closing the door. "She will." Rowan assured her and she jumped. "I'm thankful that you tried to get us to talk. If you guys ever pursue a relationship then I'm in full support. Thank you." She smiled sadly.

Rowan entered and saw Sophia with her head in her hands. He quietly observed her. "Quit standing there like a creep and state your problems." She snapped. He chuckled. "I won't say I know how you feel Sophia but try to hear your mother out. Situations make us act in various ways. Come to think of it, if you hadn't been in that position at the time you wouldn't be here today. Just think about it." He pleaded.

When he saw she was about to explode on him he quickly added, "You'll be discharged tonight and then we are flying back to New York tomorrow." She nodded.

Her gunshot wound was almost healed and even though she wouldn't admit it Rowan's words made an impact on her. She wanted to start a new life and even though Helen hurt her she had already forgiven her. She was certain about one thing though, her relationship with Helen would never be the same again.
