The bullhead landed a few miles away due to large Grimm activities and other hunters being here. It would be best to sneak inside without risking getting caught. The last thing I need is to draw more attention than needed early on.I traversed through the desolate and destroyed land with close to no Grimm encounters due to who I am. This town is quiet nice and quiet. I can feel the negativity emanating from the buildings as I walk around. No wonder my kin spend time over here. It's like a resting spot to recover and learn.
I stood in front of a torn down building and sighed before pressing my hand against it. I felt some parts of it chip from just one touch and smoke to surround me once I removed my hand. Ground Walkers haven't been to this place for a long time. Which is strange considering it was a large place. Perhaps they didn't have as much protection from the Grimm as in Atlas.
Turning away from the building, I trudged the rest of the way hoping to catch the scent of a Faunus around the ruins but turned up on nothing. They're a lot better at hiding than I thought. I rubbed an arm over my snout and growled having it snagged on something. I trailed a claw along my mouth to feel the boarbatusk horn longer than before. I guess I haven't been monitoring my growth as much as I should.
I shook my head to rid the thought from my head but stopped once something caught my eye. It's a small, red cylinder hardly the size of my thumb. "Shotgun bullet," I murmured and tossed the object away before walking once more.
Time Skip
I relaxed my shoulders finally able to catch the scent of the faunus. But by the time I did it was slowly turning dark. I can't help but curse myself for how long it took to complete this simple task. Well, there was nothing I could do about it than hurry up. I made sure my sword was clung onto my back securely before running inside on all fours. The darkness inside didn't halt my movements in the slightest as I manuvered around using my sense of smell guide me.
As I moved deeper and deeper inside the area I saw more buildings sprouted inside. The negative energy was also stronger in here and provided a secure place for Grimm. Upon further inspection there was a tunnel that lead elsewhere. Perhaps Roman and the others will be over there waiting for me. I take one step in front of me before I heard a large crack followed by a scream.
I looked up to see a figure land on the top of the building with the roof exposing the upper world. I had to make sure I wasn't followed or else this plan will end up happening sooner than it needs to. I trailed my gaze over the place in search of a faster way up rather than climbing and risking my life.
Luckily, I didn't need to climb as a pair of guards were walking down a slope dragging a body behind them. They froze instantly when they saw the glow of my eyes with one of them raising a shaky gun, "we just finished checking this place." He said and fired a bullet at me only for it to only leave a scratch on my chest. Thank the Queen for Deathstalker armor.
"Shoot again and I'll... Shove it down your throat," I warned adding a hiss at the end which was enough for him to drop the weapon.
He started to shake in his boots realizing who I am and snapped to attention, "I-I'm sorry. I d-didn't realize it was you." He turned his gaze to the person he was helping drag and then back to me, "there's a chance there may be more people here and we're a bit on edge."
I ignored what he said and stared at the person then grinned recognizing the color scheme and hair, "little Red." I said walking closer before I grab her causing them to let go, "what an unexpected... Surprise." The pair looked up at me confused until inturned back to them, "take me to Roman. He now has two gifts."
They quickly nodded and jogged in front of me deeper into the underground city to their hideout. As we got closer I could instantly hear the activity going on around me as the Faunus loaded up the shipments and prepared the bombs inside the train. A few gawked at me when I walked in causing them to stop working. I grunted and puffed out my chest, "get back to work... Roman won't be pleased."
