Asdza's POV: I was lying on my back in our medicine man's teepee I was due to give birth any minute the pain was unbearable I was in so much pain Martín my husband was waiting outside of the teepee he and I had only been married for three months before we found out that I was pregnant with our first child he's hoping the baby will be a boy we picked the name Jose Diego Chavez for if the baby is going to be a boy Diane Asdza will be if the baby is a girl soon it was time our medicine man came into the teepee my mother was with me trying keep me calm

Okay Asdza it's time I'm going to count to three then you're going to push our medicine man said

Okay I replied getting ready to push

Okay ready one two three he said

I screamed as I pushed my mother was holding my hand as I was pushing she was saying a Navajo prayer for the baby at long last we all heard it the loud cry of of my child everybody in our little village was waiting anxiously outside the teepee even Martín was outside waiting the medicine man had wrapped my child in a warm Navajo blanket then he walked over towards me handing me my child

It's a boy he said handing him to me

I smiled softly as look down at my son he looked just like Martín he had black hair and the same face features just Martín I cradled my son in my arms he yawned softly as he was falling asleep I hummed a Navajo lullaby to him as he was drifting off to sleep as I was humming Martín came in he was nervous about being a father for the first time

Well what is it? Martín asked wanting to know what the baby's gender was

It's a boy Martín I told him

I saw the look on Martín's face his face lit up he was so happy that he had a son on the first try he cheered and hollered he was so excited and happy

Yes I finally have a son! Martín screamed

Shhh Martín I just got him to sleep I told him

Oh sorry he replied

But it was too late little Jose woke up and started crying I gave Martín a look of like now look what you've done but I couldn't be mad at him for long we were happy we put little Jose in his cradleboard and he fell back asleep I sang a Navajo lullaby to keep him calm then we went to bed

Time skipped 3 years later: Asdza's POV: little Jose was growing up so fast he had already made it to his first birthday and now he's starting to learn how to walk and run he's a hyper boy always running around playing with some boys in the village as soon as it was light outside he was gone my father had found theses two German Shepherd dogs they were pups he had asked me if Jose wanted them I was unsure if Jose should be thinking of getting a dog but Martín talked me into let Jose keep them

I think it might good for him to have a dog especially two of them because you know how he is if there's more than one he'll want to keep both of them Martín said

I know Martín but he's still pretty young yet I'm not so sure he's ready to take care of a dog let alone two dogs I mean that's a very big responsibility and for a 3 year old I don't know I said
