All the myths and legends of demons and creatures were real. The thought kept running through Charlotte's head, though she had enough time to digest and continue on. Yet now she stood here with her brother, best friend, and a man that she had just met tonight who she still wasn't sure if he was crazy or not.

If Jace was crazy though, Charlotte was sure she was too after all she saw. Simon on the other hand didn't get to see first hand what she saw. The demon that would have killed Clary if it got the chance.

"Clary." Charlotte called to get Clary's attention. The red head zoned out as the two men pushed her limits. "Okay guys, back off. Lots of testosterone and toxic masculinity. Give her a minute." Charlotte tells the two as she pushed them back the slightest bit.

"Clary, come on we gotta go." Simon says wanting to beckon her towards his side.

"Simon," Clary says while turning to her best friend, "Jace can help us."

"What?" He asked incredulously.

"Come on." She grabbed him by the arm and the three followed Jace towards the church.

"You're gonna freak when you get in here." Charlotte tells her brother. Even she still couldn't believe it. An abandoned church was the place that helped her and her friend a few minutes ago.

"How do you know this McJagger looking guy isn't gonna try-" Jace turned back to Simon interrupting him.

"Mundane. We do not have the time."

"Come on, Simon. Let's go." Clary says as the three continued to follow the shadowhunter into the church. It was frighteningly dark and spooky to Charlotte like it was almost halloween. But Halloween wasn't that close and this was no prank. Jace began to draw a rune on himself while Simon looked at Clary in shock and disbelief. Charlotte still couldn't believe that was one of th things that shadowhunters did, and she wondered if Clary would have to go through that a lot.

"I know, trust me." Clary whispered to him.

"He's like burning himself." He whispers back. Suddenly Charlotte felt her hand being grabbed roughly and heard the sound of Simon's hand being grabbed as well. "Buddy what's going on man, I'm not your type-" Simon starts to stutter and becomes silent watching the church rebuild itself.

"Where are we? What the hell? Clary is there a war going on that I don't know about?" Simon asks still in a daze.

"There is now." Jace replies as he walks on towards his friends.

"And I think my mother's at the center of it." Clary adds on. She moves on as well following after Jace.

"And you're definitely not his type, Simon." Charlotte says with a chuckle.

"How are you not freaking out about this, Charlie?" He asks pulling Charlotte closer to the door.

"Oh no don't worry. I am definitely freaking out. I'm just not showing it like how you do. Ya know Simoning it."

"Stop using my name as a verb." Simon sighs out. "But seriously, doesn't this seem insane to you?"

Charlotte faltered and looked back at Clary and Jace. "Yeah, but come on Simon. It's Clary. We have to be there for her. Her mom's gone and Luke may not be able to get us out of this. This is the best thing for her now. We have to help in some way."

"You coming?" Jace asked.

"Yeah," Charlotte replies as Simon reluctantly follows.

"What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here, what they did they do, rob a tech shop?"Jace went through security footage on the screens they had.
