A mistake I've made,
Was telling you to look inside.
I said to seek the light in you.
But in reality that is not the case.
If we had the answers inside,
We wouldn't be seeking them.
Hope wouldn't be renewed,
If we still had it.
Many tell us to better ourselves,
But we don't know how to do it.
To seek answers will take more,
Like a team to find together.
Alone you'll find it they said,
Instead alone brings more questions.
If we answered ourselves,
We wouldn't have gone to school.
We wouldn't have gone to worship.
We wouldn't have made bonds with others.
It's like saying,
You're the apprentice,
But actually you were the master.
Doesn't make sense,
Though it's what we're taught.
Even when we don't realize it.
If we had the answers in us,
There would be no religion.
There would be no purpose.
There would be no community.
No choice to love.
Nothing but us alone.
You are all cared for.
You are all loved.
You are unique.
You are brilliant.
You are courageous.
You are you.
Close friends as family,
Building faith with community.
Walking in a path together.
You are not alone.
Walk together in Christ,
And grow in Christ.
