"I have time"
The next morning, Taehyung awoke by rays of sunlight piercing through his curtains, shining right onto his face. He groaned and lifted the covers up to his face, only to uncover them seconds later.
Tae slowly lifted himself up from bed and walked outside to the bathroom, his long white socks securing his feet from the cold wooden planks underneath.
After taking a quick shower and changing, he wore the usual; a white shirt, his iconic yellow flannel and black jeans, accompanied by checkered slip on vans. As he walked downstairs, the smell of pancakes filled his nostrils. Taehyung quickened his pace to find is father in the kitchen, adding his favourite golden syrup to the small pile of pancakes beside him.
Tae's father noticed him and smiled brightly. "Good morning! I was just about to come and wake you up. I haven't made you breakfast in awhile so I thought I'd do something special for you" He said.
Taehyung smiled in return and hugged his father from behind, sitting down at the table. His father slid the pancakes onto the table and persuaded Tae to eat. As his dad sat down, he noticed the bulky belt of his uniform, and noticed how his badge didn't glitter as much as it used to.
Taehyung swallowed his pancakes and spoke. "How's work?"
"Same old, same old son. I wish they would put in some godamn traffic lights already though"
Taehyung's dad worked as a police officer. Although, his promotion to forensics has been on hold for about six months now and it's obvious he's disappointed. He took a glance at his watch and looked at his son.
"I best be off kiddo, those streets aren't going to direct themselves"
He spoke with a dry laugh, his attempted joke causing a smirk from Tae.
His father patted him on the head and walked out the door, not another word said.
