Adalyn walked alongside Elijah, the name of the unfamiliar vampire, her mind reeling with questions. She had only lived here for eight months. She didn't know about any of what she learned tonight beforehand. The thought kind of terrified and thrilled her. She grew up on supernatural stories.
She was like a kid in a candy store.
Eli, as she came to nickname him, was talking on the phone. Since she couldn't hear the other side of the conversation she decided to eavesdrop from his side.
"Quite. Our brother seems to have wondered into a war zone, and I haven't been able to find him." He continued, "Marcel, who Klaus sired and brought up beneath his own wing, now rules a menagerie of savage vampires running wild, killing in public for any human to come upon." At that, he glanced at Ady, "Witches are held in subjugation. I doubt Niklaus had any idea what he was walking into."
She didn't know what the other person, she reckoned their name was Rebekah since that was what he called them, had said. Although it seemed to upset Elijah judging by the frown on his face. She grew tired of listening to a one-sided conversation and instead ignored him.
It was slightly chilly outside and her maroon, elbow-length t-shirt and thin black jeggings didn't help much. Though her brown combat boots helped a little. She folded her arms across her chest and looked around.
The reason Adalyn came to New Orleans was because she had always loved the idea of Mardi-Gras, craw-fish, gumbo, and jazz. all in one city. Having lived in Louisiana her whole life, she just wasn't ready to leave the state yet. She moved to Baton Rouge when she was eight-teen, and lived there for about three more years up until she moved here.
And she didn't regret it one bit.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she looked at Elijah and noticed he had stopped walking. She stopped, too, and watched him as he talked. It was also when she stopped that she noticed they were right outside the bar she worked at. Elijah seemed to notice this also, because when he hung up he started walking towards the alley next door.
Ady had no choice but to follow him.

After watching Elijah rip out the heart of a vampire trying to attack none other than Sophie Deveraux, and impale another on a wrought iron pole, Adalyn had the pleasure of telling the shocked witch why she was with a vampire and how she knew about him.
Oh, and following both of them to the Lafayette cemetery.
As they reached the gates, Soph went first and Elijah held them open, gesturing for Ady to go first.. She stepped through and muttered a polite 'thank-you'. Call her creepy but cemeteries didn't bother her that much. She found them to be quite peaceful. She only stopped when she noticed he couldn't get through.
She looked to Sophie, confused, before glancing back at Eli's shocked face.
The witch, not seeming too surprised turned to address both her human friend and vampire ally, "This is sacred ground, which means vampires have to be invited in... " She stopped talking for second and stared at the narrow-eyed man in front of her, "But since I'm desperate, come on in."
He cautiously stuck one foot forward and glanced at Ady, who was trying, and failing, not to laugh at the look on his face. Stepping all the way through, he rolled his eyes at her before grabbing her wrist and following Sophie.
"We can talk freely here."
He still hadn't let go of her wrist, the other hand in his pocket, when he replied with a bossy tone, "Then I suggest you start talking." She stopped and turned to look at him, "What did your sister want with Niklaus?"
