Chapter 5- Ady Meets The Original Barbie

   "Hey, Hayley." Adalyn tried to get her friend's attention. The werewolf's mind was elsewhere, so she couldn't hear her friends whiny calls, "Hayley!"

   Shouting finally got her attention, "Yeah?"

   "Which do you prefer, Cookies 'n' Cream? Or Cherry Garcia?"

  With Niklaus gone and Elijah nowhere to be found, the two were going to have a Netflix movie marathon on Ady's laptop. Hayley was just about banned from leaving the house, and there was no way she was gonna stay there alone. So, she called her human friend.

  "Hmm," Hayley considered the options, then pointed at the tub on the left, "Cherry Garcia."

  Ady handed the ice cream to Hayley, and kept her own. They both left the barely-stocked kitchen and headed upstairs. She wasn't sure if her friend was worrying about the baby, or about Elijah's sudden disappearance. One day he was promising to protect her and the next he was gone.

  So much for the 'Noble' Original.

  The two women were in the middle of watching The Avengers, at Adalyn's request, when they heard a car pull into the driveway. They paused the movie and went downstairs to check it out. She would be lying if she said she wasn't hoping for it to be Elijah.

   Truth be told, she kind of missed him.

   When they both paused on the landing of the stairs, their attention was caught by a blonde woman walking through the front door. Ady immediately recognized her as Elijah and Niklaus' sister, Rebekah. Also known as the girl Eli was on the phone with a while back.

   Hayley must've not recognized her like Ady did, because she grabbed some pointy, black thing and called out, "Who the hell are you?"

   "You two must be the maids." Rebekah dropped her car keys on a table by the door, "My bags are in the car. Get them, will you?"

    "Hello." Ady said, as she took the fire poker from Hayley's hands, "Neither of us are the maids."

    "Right." She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath of air, then opened them and looked at Hayley, "You're that werewolf girl my brother Klaus knocked up. I was expecting to see some kind of supernatural, miracle baby bump. Guess you're not showing yet. It's Hayley, isn't it?" She then looked at the human, "And who are you supposed to be?"

   "That's Adalyn." Hayley answered for her, "You have your brother's manners."

   "And his temper, too. So watch it." She warned, then continued to walk into the main room, "Where's Elijah?"

    "Beats me." Ady answered this time, "He's long gone."

    Rebekah looked from one woman to the other, "What do you mean long gone?"

   Adalyn took the time to study the original. She looked just like she did in the flashback, with a more modern haircut and some new clothes. Her eyes were the same color blue as Klaus'. It was easy to see the family resemblance between the three of them.

   "Well, one minute he was here making epic promises about protecting me from this predicament a bottle of Scotch and some bad decisions got me into," Hayley sighed and crossed her arms, "He was all poetic about how we're family, then Klaus told me he bailed. Guess that's what I get for trusting a vampire."

   That seemed to anger Rebekah, "Elijah is not just any vampire, and he doesn't break promises, which means Niklaus has done something dastardly and Klaus-like." She then started shouting into the empty room, "Klaus, get out here and tell me what you've done with our brother, you narcissistic, back-stabbing wanker!"
