Not long after Elijah left to talk to Niklaus, some witchy friend of Sophie's showed up. Adalyn had seen her around town before, but most witches tended to stay in their little section of the French Quarter. She heard Soph say that the the black woman dressed in a blue top with a bandana and lots of jewelry was named Agnes. Apparently, she was like the last elder or something about an ancestor. She wasn't paying attention.

"Marcel and his vampires are out of control." Sophie was saying, "Something had to be done."

But the older witch wasn't impressed, "And the solution is to bring in more vampires?"

"These aren't just any vampires, Agnes. They're the originals." Sophie insisted.

"What makes you think you can control the hybrid?"

Ady and Hayley were listening intently to argument. They kept sharing discreet eye rolls and snorts every now and then. The pregnant werewolf was leaning against one of the pillars with her arms crossed while the human girl was standing close by, feet shoulder-width apart and arms also crossed. She was paying so much attention, the unexpected voice of Elijah at the door made her jump.

"She can't." He was leaning against the wall by the entrance, hands in his pockets, "Not entirely certain that I can, either. But now that you're coven has drawn his ire, I have a question." He was walking towards Sophie as he spoke and stopped in front of her, "What prevents my brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?"

She was confused when Sophie walked towards a shelf on the wall next to her and grabbed what looked to be a doll of some sort. The witch pulled a pin out of the doll and pricked her hand. Almost immediately Hayley pulled her hand up. Ady responded quickly, gently grabbing the other girl's hand and inspecting it. There, she found a little drop of blood in the palm, and it looked like she was pricked also.

"What the hell?" Hayley glared at Sophie.

Sophie held up her hand to show a drop of blood in the same exact spot, "The spell my sister performed, the one that got her killed, it didn't just confirm the pregnancy. It linked me to Hayley. So anything that happens to me, happens to her, which means her life is in my hands. Klaus may not care about his own child, but it's very clear what it already means to you." Elijah didn't say anything, Sophie continued. "If I have to hurt Hayley or worse to ensure that I have your attention, I will."

After she stopped speaking, Ady decided to speak up, "She's tellin' the truth." At that, all heads, looked her way, but she stared straight at Sophie, "Marcel controls her life and the coven's, her sister is dead, and with no other livin' family, she's got nothin' to lose. Before she started ignorin' my very existence, my mama used to always say that people with nothin' left will do anythin' to get what they want. Riskin' either their lives," She glanced at Hayley, then to Elijah, "Or someone else's"

At the end of her not-so-little speech, Eli's eyes met hers. The curious look in his gaze made her nervous. Maybe she shouldn't have said anything about her mother. Or anything at all. His eyes lingered on hers for another moment, then he turned towards Sophie. She let out an audible sigh of relief and slouched against the pillar next to her, mimicking Hayley's earlier stance.

Elijah took two threatening steps toward Soph, "You would dare threaten an original?"

"Like Adalyn said, I have nothing to lose." Her eyes briefly teared up before her expression hardened, "You have until midnight to get Klaus to change his mind."

And with that, Elijah set out again.

Not long after the funeral-thing for Jane-Anne, Elijah returned to tell Sophie that Niklaus has accepted the deal. She let Hayley go, and he brought both of the girls back to some old plantation home not too far from town. It was pretty, and Eli said that it sat on a huge amount of land.

Adalyn and Hayley were taking some of the protective covers off of the furniture. The house was pretty old, and most of the blankets were covered with a heavy layer of dust. Every time one of them pulled a cover off, they were coughing their lungs out. It didn't smell too great, either. They had both just pulled one off of a chair and started coughing like crazy when Elijah entered.

"You alright?" He asked, as his eyes roamed around the room.

Hayley answered for them, "Just dust. This place is ancient."

"Yes. It should serve our purposes." He walked farther into the room, "It's a sanctuary, from our business in the quarter." He stopped on the other side of Hayley, opposite of Ady, "Right now your the most important member in this family. You need a good home." His eyes then turned towards the girl standing awkwardly to the side, "I'm assuming you won't be leaving Hayley's side, will you need a room?"

She glanced up towards the original- who was now on the other side of the chair- then moved to the other side of Hayley with a cheeky grin on her face.

Hayley, who started laughing hysterically, nudged her new friend in the ribs, "That's still my side, you dork."

"He didn't say which side exactly." She turned back towards Elijah, her face growing serious, "I have an apartment in town, a couple blocks away from the bar. I know you''ll keep her safe without me here, so I'll just visit every now and then. A room won't be needed."

He scanned her face and nodded, then turned back to Hayley, "I'm curious. In all this time, has anyone asked you how you feel?"

"About having a miracle baby with a psychotic one night stand?" Her voice held a slight amount of sarcasm.

"About being a mother."

Hayley looked towards Adalyn, but avoided eye contact with both of them, "I was abandoned when I was born, and my adoptive parents kicked me out the second I turned into a wolf. So, I don't know I feel about being a mother because I never really had a good one."

"I will always protect you. You have my word on that."

Ady grabbed the girl's hand, "I'll be with you too, Hay-bail. Remember, I won't leave either of your sides."

Hayley snorted at the nickname, and gave her hand a squeeze, all while smiling in appreciation. But, the atmosphere soon changed, became more tense and awkward, when an unexpected voice spoke from the doorway.

"And noble Elijah always keeps his word."

Hayley tensed from beside Adalyn, holding the other girl's hand in a death grip. Elijah held an annoyed look on his face before his features became blank. She didn't know what was going on between the two of them, but the tension was heavy.

Eli turned to face his brother, "Is it done?"

"As a matter of fact, yes." Klaus had a self-satisfied smirk on his face, "Your under-handed deal worked quite well. Marcel was only to happy to accept my blood even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies. His man, Thierry, yet lives and I remain a welcome guest in the French Quarter." He uncrossed his arms and started walking towards the three of them. "My only concern now is this coven of impudent witches."

"I believe them to be honorable." Elijah glanced back at Hayley. "They did release Hayley to me. Although they haven't been entirely forthcoming. Marcel obviously has something that they need." He stalked closer to Klaus, "They don't want him dead. There must be a reason why."

After that, Hayley and Adalyn went upstairs to check out the rest of the place and find her bedroom. Once they found a room the werewolf liked, they used her phone to play some loud, upbeat music. The music was so loud, in fact, that they didn't hear Elijah's cries of pain from downstairs as Niklaus daggered him.
