Your head is pressed up against the cold window as you wake up. It takes you a couple moments to get used to your surroundings before you remember that you're on the bus to your new home.

Out the window, a sign passes saying "Stardew Valley → 0.5 miles"

You breathe a sigh of relief as you're getting close, but there is still tingling in the pit of your stomach. This is the biggest change you've done in your life, especially without your friends or family being nearby to help you out.

You must have slept through most of the journey as the time on your watch shows that a couple hours have passed, plus most of the people on the bus from the beginning of the journey have now gone, presumably already reached their destination.

You pull your backpack up from between your feet and hold it on your lap for the rest of the journey. The funny feeling in your stomach grows more noticeable as you can see the bus stop down the road and the bus starts to slow down.

As the bus judders to a halt, the bus driver gets up out from his console and yells out,
"Everyone for stardew valley?"

You quickly get out of your seat with your arm raised, "Thats me!"

You slick, your backpack over your shoulder as you walk quickly down to the front.

As you approach the river, he presses a button above him then proceeds to step off the bus,

"I'll grab your luggage for you", he says

"Oh thank you," you reply

A minute later the driver is climbing back into his console

"I hope you have a good trip!" he hollers out at you

"Haha, i think im gonna be here for a while" you state back

"Well, I hope you enjoy your stay then", he chuckles before the doors of the bus close, the driver waves to you as he drives away,

The dim light of the evening is fully setting in now, you can't wait to see what the sunset from your farm will look like.

As you turn around, you see someone walking towards you through the trees and bushes,

"Hiya! You must be Kai. Im Robin, the local carpenter, Mayor Lewis sent me to fetch you and show you to your new home, He's just tidying things up there now"

You sort yourself out and shake her hand.

She wasn't lying about being a carpenter, very strong hands.

Robin is as bright hair tied in a loose ponytail, and wearing a big yellow coat, and tidy brown jeans.

"Hi Robin, nice to meet you!", you reply, sounding exhausted, "Thank you for meeting me here, it was a very long journey".

You laugh nervously and do a final check on all your things.

She sees you pick up the last of your things then continues,

"The farms right over here, if you'll follow me!"

Robin smiles and turns away from you then leads you out of the bus stop area ten turns right at a fork in the path.

After a few meters, the space suddenly opens up and you see a big farmhouse to your right, It has a little fire log store to the left, steps up to a porch outfront, your own letter box just outside and what seems to be a shipping bin too. You're not entirely sure what that's for.

Robin looks around the land that surrounds you and gives a smile, "This is your farm!", she states.

As you have a proper look around, you now realise how... untidy it looks. You sigh in frustration with all the work you're going to have to put into this place.

Robin then turns to you with a slightly puzzled look on her face,

"What's the matter!", she asks, "Sure, It's a bit overgrown but there's some good soil underneath that mess!"

You nod slowly in agreement, she has a point.

She continues, "With a little dedication you'll have it cleaned up in no times"

"That's very true, I suppose this is my first time on a farm, and never thought I'd ever live on one, especially by myself"

You laugh to yourself, and Robin smiles.

She walks you up to the porch and you put your bags down on the steps leading up to the front door.

"...And here we are, your new home," She beams.

Suddenly an older man, in his mid 70s, emerges from the front door and shuts it behind hi. He's wearing a green shirt with suspenders, and suits a silver moustache. He grins down at you, "Ah, the new farmer!"

"That's me!," you laugh

He walks down the steps to stand beside you ad shakes your hand

"Welcome! I'm Lewis, Mayor of Pelican Town here in Stardew valley", He introduces himself. He goes to straighten his yellow tie before continuing, "You know, everyone has been talking about you, it's not everyday someone new moves in, it's quite a big deal!"

Lewis pauses then turns to look at your new house. He then turns back to you and carries on with his introduction,

"So,you're moving into your Grandfather's old cottage. It's a good house! Very...'rustic'"

All three of you turn to look at the house contently, before Robin breaks the silence by laughing. You and Lewis both turn to her, confused.

"Rustic?", she starts, "That's one way to put it. 'Crusty' might be a little more apt"

Lewis almost jumps out of his skin at Robin's response, and Robin seems to find this even more music, covering her mouth while she laughs.

Lewis quickly cuts into her, "Don't listen to her, Kai, She's just trying to make you dissatisfied so that you buy one of her house upgrades"

Robin matters "hmph" under her breath and crosses her arms at this.

Lewis then quickly speaks before Robin can pitch in again,

"Anyway... You must be tired from the long journey. You should get some rest. Tomorrow you ought to explore the town a bit and introduce yourself. The townspeople would appreciate that," He finishes that statement by handing you a bit of paper.

You unfold it and read it: "Meet the 28 townspeople"

Lewis then starts walking out the way you and Robin came in. Hestops when he reaches the shipping bin, then quickly turns back to you.

"Oh I almost forgot! If you have anything to sell, just place it in here. I'll come by during the night to collect it. Well... Goodluck!"

Robin then pats you on the back, waves, and the pair leave for the night.

You sigh to yourself, pick up your things, then enter your new house.

"I hope everyone in this town is that friendly", you think as you set everything down inside.

You Are pleasantly surprised to see its already furnished. And furnished Nicely! It come with a TV, a comfy bed, a table with a couple chairs, and a real fireplace! It is on the small side though.... And now that you realise it, no kitchen.

You decide it would be best if you go talk to Robin sooner rather than later about getting cooking facilities.

You lay down on the surprisingly comfortable single bed you were given and sigh to yourself again. Clearing up your new farm and meeting everyone in town seems really daunting right now but that can be sorted tomorrow. Right now all you can focus on is sleeping.
