All six of us stood around (except that Felicity was in my arms) the grave that Reyes's body was supposed to be in, it was Zacks's decision that we should give him the "proper burial" The silence around us was intense. It killed me to be there knowing that his body is missing and not in that grave.
I hate the fact that I was even there to support his not existing body. Listening to the 'priest' talk about him going to Heaven. As if his body was in the coffin. He didn't know anything about that man and the shit that he had done to people. To me. That monster doesn't deserve to go to Heaven. He should rot in Hell and burn as I stand and watch him cry out to me. Begging for me to release him from Hell. Suddenly, I had gotten this feeling to where I wanted to throw up. But I held it down, gulping down the substance as it gets stuck in my throat. Michael looks down at me and gives me a side hug as a comfort. I didn't mind it but it just wasn't the right time.
We were shocked by how we found out that his body went missing.
"What do you mean that his body is missing?!" I screamed. I paced back and forth. Is he alive? Did someone take his body? "That is exactly what I meant, Lucky," Zack grumbled out.
I turn to look at Michael to see if he had an opinion as to why his body is gone. He looks at me with a frown on his face. "He was just up and gone."
I don't think he meant that his best friend's body is dead.
"Dove, we went back to the church, you even came with us. You saw this with your very eyes and he just disappeared. He's alive, I know it. And can you please stop pacing back and forth? You're going to put a hole in the floor." Bryan was getting annoyed that I wouldn't calm down.
I can't.
I just can't calm down, knowing that he still might be alive.
I know he's alive.
That man is impossible to kill.
He will come back.
I know he will.
"Oh god this is bad, really bad we are going to be in so much trouble!" I practically screamed at the three idiots in front of me. Zack went to open his mouth and stuck up his finger. I glared at him."Don't you dare," I growled as he shuts his mouth and puts his finger down into his lap, Lily came into the room, holding Felicity in her arms. "I explained to the girls and they asked if they can stay here for a couple of days if they would like. I think they are a little shaken up. Hun, his body may be gone and all but he could be dead." She sits down putting Felicity down on her lap.
"Then. Explain. To. Me. Why. His. Body. Is. Missing!" They groaned. I start to hyperventilate. Michael rushes up to me. "Shit, she's having a panic attack." He wraps me in his arms and whispers in my ear. "It's okay, teddy. Just calm down." He rubs my hair on my head. "If he isn't dead...He won't get mad at us for leaving him. He knows that you and Felicity will always come first before him and his gang." He grabs my face, his hands on my cheeks. "Reyes was probably taken by Lukes gang for all we know."
The look in his eyes warmed my body. I felt like ice melting in his warm hands. "As a tradition, we will need to do a proper burial even though his body is missing. We do it out of honor." Zack pointed out. Michael nodded but continues to look at me. "Teddy, go with Lily and feed Felicity I bet she is hungry. The boys and I need to talk about rearranging the funeral." I nodded and took Felicity out of Lily's arms. We left the room and went to the kitchen. I made Felicity her food and feed it to her. Honor? What has he even done to deserve that gold medal or Honor?
"He's alive, Lily. I can feel it."
I hate knowing that he's alive and not in the large hole in the ground. The priest had finished up and left, leaving us in our thoughts.
I didn't shed a single tear. In fact, none of us did.
I know they know that he's still alive, they just don't want to believe it.
"What do we do now?" Bryan asked out of the blue. We turned to look at him.
"What we have to, continue on with the gang," Michael said. I grabbed his hand, he looks at me. "What do you mean?" I looked at him confusedly, "by continuing on?" He lifts up his other hand and puts it on my face. "Meaning, that I'm in second to be leading this gang." My eyes widened in shock. "Why? why would you want to continue being in this gang with you have the freedom to leave now?"
He gulps. He opened his mouth to speak. "Remember what I said at the church? We can never leave, Teddy Bear. He has us all trapped to where we can't leave. Even you." Tears pricked my eyes. "We all have been marked by him, Dove." Bryan held out his wrist along with Lilly, Zack, and lastly Michael. They had an anchor just like the one that Reyes had on his thumb but they had it on their wrist.
Michael looks at me with pity in his eyes. "For you, you have the whole exact replica tattoo that he had on his back. Marking you as his. As a reminder that you are his." I looked away from his eyes and looked down. I can never escape him. He will always and forever be planted in my mind. Suddenly, my arms started to get heavy from Felicity's weight. She has gotten big and harder to carry.
Lilly held out her arms, "Here, let me put her to bed" I nodded giving her Felicity's sleeping form and walks away to put her to bed. "We should get to bed. We had a long day. Bryan will take the girls back home tomorrow." I nodded as we all walked into the house. The girls were already in bed. After the whole thing about the wedding, they haven't really talked to me much. I think that they are shaking up pretty bad. I made my way to my- Reyes and I's room. I grabbed his clothes out of his dresser, put them on then crawled into bed.
The whole night, I tossed and turned not able to get to bed. I tossed off the blankets and tip-toed my way out the door into the living room where Michael, Bryan, Lily, Zack are sleeping. I slowly walked up to Michael-who is sleeping on the floor and quietly got under his covers and curled myself against his warm body. As I was just about to fall asleep I felt his arm snaking around my waist. I tensed up but relaxed when I heard his soft snore in my ear. My eyes fell heavy until they closed.
