hey ghost

I was in class. Everything was normal up until the moment one of my classmates, let's call him Mark, comes up to me and goes:
"Hey, do you wanna go to Starbucks with me one of these days?"

I'm taken by surprise and I don't know what his intentions are because that just came out of the blue.
"I don't really drink coffee", I say.

His friends who were watching this exchange laugh at this. He says it's okay and sits back down.

Meanwhile class continues but I can hear Mark talk with his friends about me. Now he doesn't know how to ask me out for something to which I'll say yes. At this point I'm freaking out just wondering and analyzing all the scenarios of why he would want to go out with me. Is he making fun of me? Is this a bet? What's happening? Boy was I right to be suspicious lmao.

I try to ignore them but it's hard to ignore people that are talking about you. So I distract myself by asking the teacher if I can send her last class's work via email since I didn't go to school that day. She agrees and continues with the teaching.

When the bell rings, Mark comes up to me again.

"You know I can help you with that work, right?" He takes this as an opportunity.

"I mean, sure if you insist", I reply because I don't want to be rude.

"Yeah great! Your house?" Uh oh! I know what this means and it sure as hell isn't working. Also, my house is an hour away from school. I think tf not.

"Do you even know how far away from school my house is?" I ask him. He does know since I've mentioned it in one of our first conversations. "If you really wanna help me though, we can do it in the library."

At this he just says "sure" but we never got around to schedule anything and neither of us brought it up again.

I ended up doing it at home alone. We didn't talk about it afterwards.

until next time,
mars
