Erina
Thud, crunch, thud, crunch. My pummelling of Colt became a repetitive drumbeat inside my head, urging me onward towards his deserving death.
"This is the most fun I've had in months." Kenzie beamed as she split her knuckles against Colt's welting skin.
Colt didn't fight back, lying relatively motionless, his eyes closed, belly up.
"You're going to kill him." Cullen actually sounded worried from behind us, while he struggled to hold back a furious bloodthirsty hound by the name of Callum.
"Yes." I smirked. "Would you like to kick his head around like a football when we're done?"
Colt sputtered blood and his head lolled back.
Cullen and Fillan aggressively pulled Kenzie and I off him.
"This isn't humane." Cullen pinned me against the wall, Kenzie pinned by Fillan opposite me.
"Then it's a good thing I'm not human." I could hear the murderous tone in my voice. I wanted his blood spilled, for him to hurt as he had made my family and I hurt.
"Sure he's a monster, but we can still question him."
"What's there to ask?" Kenzie growled at Colt's unconscious form. "He betrayed us!"
Cullen stepped back from me, an unreadable emotion in his eyes. "I've heard that before." He muttered.
"Perhaps we should just put him out of our misery." Fillan cast his eyes to Colt's body that was bleeding out onto the cobblestones.
"Don't you want the method behind his madness?" Cullen asked collectively as he bent over Colt's body. He fisted a hand in his coat, lifting his limp body up. He slapped him across the face and Colt stirred. "Hey there, filth. Why don't you tell us what exactly you are doing here?"
Colt's jaw clicked and wobbled, dislocated. "I was-exiled." He winced in pain from speaking. "I broke the laws of my coven, my magic stripped away."
"Some Demi God." I spat.
Colt's eyes slid to my own. "My girlfriend-" He began.
"-Do the secrets never end!" I approached him, fists raised to silence him for good.
"Ciara." He hung his head. "They killed her."
"Why?" Cullen pressed, holding out a hand my way to stop my advances.
"She saw the future-she was ah-" His jaw clicked loudly and he cupped his swollen mouth. "She showed me."
"What pray tell happens in the future?" Cullen looked decidedly curious.
Colt swallowed deeply, grimacing at what he had tasted in his mouth and possibly the news he held. "This world is destroyed in a monsoon of fire that scorches everything living to dust." His gaze found mine once more.
I felt a cold chill creep up my spine, raising the hairs at the nape of my neck. "Is that why you tried to kill us?" I asked daringly.
"I didn't want you to die, I just wanted you locked away. We were trying to save this world and the lab was the only option." He replied.
"We could have died!" Kenzie screeched. "Surely you could have thought of another less vile option to prevent some apparition of a future that is no doubt a lie."
"I saw it with my own eyes, it's no lie." Colt defended himself.
"You could be lying right now!" Kenzie stalked closer. "Let me kill him right now."
