Chapter 5: Hanging with Edd

Third-person POV
Y/n woke up quite early today, everyone else was asleep. And to their dismay, they were extremely bored out of their mind. They were getting pretty hungry, and as much as they would've loved Eddie's Cola Bacon, they would feel bad for waking him up just to make them breakfast. Y/n struts to the kitchen, and grabs the milk out of the fridge to make some cereal. After prepping a nice bowl of lucky charms, Y/n carefully sits on the couch to not spill the milk and turns on some morning cartoons. After a few minutes though, Y/n heard footsteps on the stairs, it was Eddie! He yawned and rubbed his eyes before noticing Y/n that chirped with a "GoodMorning!" He replied with a "GoodMorning" as well, and noticed the not even half empty cereal bowl in Y/n's hands. "Awwh, you're hungry? Why didn't you wake me up?" He lowkey whined. "It's fine, I didn't wanna wake you up so I managed it myself." Y/n reassured before shoving spoonful of cereal in their mouth again, Edd just chuckled "Well, ya better leave room 'cause I'm still making breakfast!" He winked jokingly and Y/n just smiled with their cheeks still full of cereal.

After having more breakfast with the boys, Y/n was STUFFED, they laid down on the couch feeling like their stomach's 'bout to pop. Edd sat down by them petting their hair, "Darn, looks like ya pushed yourself there..?" He sympathetically smiled and Y/n just nodded. "Well, I was joking when I said to leave room, you didn't have to eat if you were already full, I'm sorry..." he apologized "..Still, I would do anything for your Cola Bacon, Eddie..." Y/n kinda whined when Tord suddenly chimed in "Anything...?" He said sticking his head from the corner, Edd rolled his eyes at him at shook his head playfully, and Tord just grinned disappearing back into the other room.

It was the after-noon, Y/n was bored, again, so they went to ask Edd if they could hang out. They knocked the door before hearing a cheerful "Come in~" so they did. "Oh hey Y/n." "Hey Eddie! Let's go to the park, I'm boorreedd" Y/n whined that last part spinning around like an airplane, Edd laughed and said "Okay, go get ready and meet me downstairs.". Y/n excitedly rushed to their room and picked out some clothes, some nice leggings, a F/c baseball tee, and some gray converse.

Y/n excitedly bounced in their place by the door waiting for Edd, who walked downstairs but before saying anything he looked at Y/n and crossed his arms, "Where's your coat?" He asked, but without saying a work Y/n just rushed upstairs and quickly grabbed a jacket from their room, then head back down and chirped "Here!" And Edd just smiled and but before leaving Edd urgently yelled to the boys. They all gathered by the door anticipating what Edd was about to say. "Y/n and I are going out, so I'm leaving you in charge of the house." He firmly stated as Tom and Tord just looked at eachother while Matt looked into his mirror. Edd cleared his throat before speaking up again "..That means, Tom, Tord; please for the love of Cola and Bacon, please no fighting I do not want the house up in flames right now." He said to the pair as the just mumbled and shrugged "And don't let Matt do anything stupid..." he stated before saying goodbye to the three and heading out with Y/n.

After starting the car, Y/n decided to turn on the radio, and soon their favorite song started playing. Edd just gasped and said "I love that song!" "Me too!" Y/n and Edd soon started loudly yelling the lyrics, having an absolute party, not giving a care in the world. After the song ended, they were already at the park, so they walked in and spotted a playground, Y/n's eyes lit up and said "Eddie can I go play!?" Before saying yes though, out of no where Edd's heart pounded with anxiety...Why...? "Y-yeah, just...be careful..a-and." The words barely rolled out as he stuttered them "Eddie... are you okay..?" "Y-yeah...I think I'm...just-just worried you might get...hurt." he scratched the back of his head "Don't worry, I'll be okay! I just wanna go play, I'll be careful..just trust me." Y/n said holding both his hands, Edd just smiled and nodded now feeling a bit easy.

As Y/n made their way to the jungle gym, Edd sat on a nearby bench to watch Y/n. Y/n was playing and doing flips on the monkey bars, which gave Edd a spark of anxiety, but he decided to leave it be, he had to learn to trust Y/n, that's what they would've wanted. Y/n got bored of the bars and decided to play on the slides, but before they could slide down, instead they were pushed down and ended up face planting into the sand before hearing to laughter of a little boy. Edd jolted up from his seat but Y/n got up and brushed themselves off before giving Edd a reassuring nod, which sent him back down in his seat, he had to hold himself and let Y/n be independent, that's what they would've wanted. Y/n got up and managed to get up in the boy's face and take a good look at it "What the heck was that for?" Y/n tried to say in a low voice to intimidate the taller boy "I wanted my turn, so I took it from you." He slyly replied "As if you can just do that..?" "But I did.." he got up in Y/n's face, which now began to freak them out, but luckily Edd stepped in. "So if I went told your parents will you still want to push other kids off whenever you liked?" Edd looked down at the boy crossing his arms which in turn scared the boy "N-no sir, I-im.. I'm sorry..!" The boy gulped and ran back to his mother. Edd glared at him before looking back at Y/n and saying "Hey, I'm sorry for not letting you handle it and stepping in like that-" he got cut off when Y/n hugged him and said "It's okay, I know you wanted to protect me, and appreciate it." Edd smiled and hugged back.

After playing for a few more hours it became dark and chilly, so Edd called over to Y/n to tell them it was time to leave, Y/n just gave an "aww" but gave in put on their jacket. "Thankyou Eddie! Today was fun." Y/n chirped and Edd replied "You're Welcome, want some ice cream?" "Yes please." So they got to the icecream parlor and got Chocolate for Y/n, and vanilla for Edd. As they head back to car, Edd starts the engine and jokingly says "Well, let's hope the house is still in one piece when we get back!" And Y/n simply giggles, and keeps eating their icecream.
