After school Belch dropped Patrick and I off at his place, it was a beautiful two story red brick house. Patrick walked in and closed the door behind me. we walked into the kitchen where I guessed to be his father reading a newspaper at the kitchen table and his mother over the stove cooking something. They both looked at us and his mother instantly smiled however his fathers expression seemed stay the same.
"Patrick who is this lovely young lady?" his mother asked in a kind motherly tone, I smile.
"Hi Mrs Hockstetter I'm Hayley, Patricks closest friend." I smiled, realisation crossed her features.
"You're the special girl aren't you?" she asked, I nodded in slight confusion.
"What do you mean?" I asked. she sat me at the table with the guys.
"When Patrick got back from his little vacation he told us of a girl. she was sensitive ad emotional and beautiful but she had a fire that he loved. a smile that could brighten any day, someone he wouldn't lose ever." His mother said, I felt my heart swell with love hearing this. Patrick was blushing slightly while he sat next to me.
I smiled lovingly at him, he avoided my eyes so I used my left hand to tilt his head up my way and gave him a quick loving kiss on the lips.
"You're sweet Patty." I said smiling softly at him. he smiled back, a real genuine smile. his parents held loving looks towards us.
"uh mom, dad there's something we have to talk to you about." Patrick said surprising me but I kept a slight nervous-calm face.
"Oh? what about son?" Mr Hockstetter said with an aged gruff tone.
"Uh Hayley's gran just died that's why she came to Derry and I was wandering if she could move in with us?" Patrick asked, I looked down. yes I killed my gran to come here but she was the last of my family and did care for her a bit. They looked surprised, then sad, and last accepting. His mother pulled me into a hug, I bit my lip as a small his left my lips.
"Are you okay dear?" Mrs Hockstetter asked concerned pulling away.
"My gran died in a house fire, I only just got out but not without 2 degree burns. speaking of I have to put some antiseptic on it, can you help Patrick?" I said , he nodded.
Patrick led me and his mother who wanted to help to the bathroom upstairs. I stripped off my shirt again and Patrick carefully took off the dirtied patches.
"So just spray the antiseptic on it and put a new clean patch on this time." I said.
"Will it hurt you?" HE asked, I nodded.
"A lot." I replied truthfully. when he sprayed it on the burns I screamed in pain, after it was done Patrick hugged me carefully.
"God I'm so sorry princess." Patrick said.

Turns out his parents love me already and said I could live with them. we went to the motel and grabbed my stuff. I'll be sharing Patricks room with him, courtesy of him basically begging.
now I sat on his bed with him next to me. I had just took my pain reliefs and antibiotics, he kissed my temple.
"Are you alright doll?" He asked grabbing my hand, he was on my uninjured side.
"Yeah I guess let's go to sleep." I said. we laid down under the covers not touching besides for holding hands.
