                         Athy

It was a particularly windy night when Lucas appeared on my balcony unannounced. I was lost in thought, staring up at the stars when his face suddenly appeared a few inches from mine.

"AAGH!" I stumbled back grasping at the air for balance and started to fall before Lucas grabbed my arm and yanked me closer. He was crouched on top of the railing, staring at me with an amused expression.

"Always the clumsy one, aren't you?" he said with a smirk. "What did you say?! Isn't it your fault for appearing right next to my face in the middle of the night?" I whined. Lucas ignored me and jumped down from the railing, giving me a once-over. "Not bad," he said, nodding approvingly. I glanced down, only then realizing I was in my nightclothes. I blushed furiously and shoved his shoulder.

"What are you doing here so late? What if my father finds you here?" Lucas rolled his eyes. "When has that ever stopped me before?" He pushed past me, walked straight off the balcony and into my bedroom.
"Lucas, you can't just barge into my room late at night without my permission!"
"So you're saying it's fine if I have your permission?" He glanced at me innocently. I sighed, exasperated. "What do you want? It can't wait until the morning?"
"It can't actually."
"What is so important that it has to be discussed now?" I studied his face curiously. Lucas rarely became serious, but when he did, I knew it was no joking matter.

He leaned his back into the wall next to my bed and stared at me for several seconds, saying nothing. I started to fidget, feeling self conscious under his gaze. I began thinking about the night he kissed me for the first time.

We hadn't really talked about it much since then, aside from the time he started to say something about it in front of Claude. I didn't know if those kisses meant something or if they were just some kind of experiment or joke. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but the longer his searing gaze remained on my face, the more I wished he would come closer.

When I took a good look at him, Lucas really was very handsome. His long, dark hair was soft like silk and framed his porcelain face. He had it tied back into a low ponytail and pushed over onto one shoulder. His eyes were like polished rubies, glittering in the darkness.

He pushed back from the wall and started walking closer to me. Every step towards me made my heart beat faster. I wanted to back away from him, but my feet were glued to the ground. When he reached me, he smiled slowly, leaned down to my ear and whispered, "If I kissed you right now, I wonder if you'd turn as red as last time. I'd really like to see."

I blushed furiously. I could feel my face, neck and ears burning as I stuttered, "W-what are you saying?" He chuckled and whispered, "I can see quite well in the dark, in case you were wondering."

I flushed even harder, embarrassed at the realization that despite the darkness, he could see how red I was. I covered my face with my dress sleeve and backed up against the wall to get away from him.
He smirked and slowly came closer, until we were so close I could feel his warmth on every inch of my body, despite us not touching. I was pressed against the wall, him towering over me with no room to escape. But I didn't want to escape.

As if Lucas realized this, he laughed slyly and brought his face so close to mine that we almost touched noses. "When you look like that it really makes me want to kiss you again. Can I?"

I swallowed, my heart thumping so loud and so hard that I knew Lucas could hear it. He knew the effect he was having on my body, and his face reflected his satisfaction.
I nodded slightly and was immediately shocked at myself. What am I doing? This is Lucas! We're about to do it again? I felt the adrenaline running through my body as the excitement took over. It felt like we were doing something we weren't supposed to. Maybe it was because I had
known Lucas for so long.

Lucas starting coming closer. His eyes were blazing like a uncontrollable fire. He swallowed and fixated on my lips. I could see the raw desire in his eyes, and it gave me a feeling I had never felt before, even in my past life.

He wants to kiss me. It hadn't really hit me until that second. He was about to kiss me. My eyes fluttered closed as I felt warmth brush over my lips, so softly it was almost like it hadn't happened. Like the first kiss, it was light and gentle.

He pulled back slowly and looked at me, a question in his eyes. Do you really want this? They seemed to be asking. So I gave him my answer.

Almost unconsciously I knotted my fingers into his hair and curled them around his nape. I pulled him back into a kiss, this one more harder than the last. He stiffened for half a second before relaxing and kissing me back. He put one arm against the wall behind my head and the other around my waist as we kissed slowly, carefully. He pulled away and started planting soft kisses on my chin and throat.

When his lips brushed against my neck I sighed unconsciously, twisting my fingers into his hair as he lightly bit the spot right above my collarbone. When he came back up, he kissed my cheek and leaned his forehead against mine, staring into my eyes for several long seconds. It was like he was looking into my very being. At that moment it felt like I was laid bare, and Lucas could see everything I was thinking. His expression was serious, his eyes full of longing.

He came closer, his breathing becoming heavier. I could feel his heart beating fast against my chest. This time when our lips touched, I could feel his desperation. Our lips moved together quickly, passionately. His tongue traced my lip lightly as if asking for entrance. I opened my mouth and let his tongue dance over mine. He tasted sweet, like something that doesn't exist in this world.

His fingers tangled into my hair, stroking one of my ears gently as he kissed me like the world was ending around us.

He leaned into me again, pulling my waist away from the wall and tilting my head back with his palm, deepening the kiss even more. My entire world started to fade away. I forgot everything about myself. My worries, my fears. My likes and dislikes. I even almost forgot my name. All I knew was that moment. It felt safe there, in his arms. There was nowhere else I wanted to be more right then than with him. My entire body tingled under his touch. The longer we kissed, the warmer my body felt. I wanted this moment to last forever.

It was right after I had that thought when Lucas pulled away quickly, breathing heavily. He cursed under his breath and backed away, covering half of his face with his arm. "What's wrong?" I felt disappointed and deprived at the sudden distance between us. I wanted to touch him more.

He looked up, and that's when I realized he was standing in the moonlight coming in from the balcony. I was struck again by how good looking he was. His eyes shined in the light, and his magician robes hugged his tall, fit frame perfectly. His cheeks seemed darker than usual. Is he...blushing? My eyes widened, and as I opened my mouth to say something about it he abruptly started to walk back outside.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked, following him to the edge of the balcony. "You can't just show up in the middle of the night, do that and then leave," I grumbled. "Don't worry, I'll see you tomorrow," Lucas remarked with a laugh.

He climbed up onto the railing and looked down at me with a sly grin. "If I stay here any longer I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from what would happen later." My mouth popped open, and with the sound of his snicker there was a rush of sudden wind and he was gone into the night, as quickly as he came.
