A Boy In The Shadow

Chapter 6

After a long talk away from Sadie the boys agreed that they would adopt Harry and try to give him the life he deserved.

The only problem was convincing Sadie. The boys walked back into the hospital room see that Harry had fallen asleep and that Sadie was filling in paperwork.

"Right, we have come to a decision," said Louis, "and we have decided we are going to adopt him."

"Really," Sadie snorted, "you think the four of you can adopt him, look after him and give him what he needs?"

"Yes." Louis simply said.

"Well, I don't think you can." Sadie fired back.

"You don't even know us," said Louis, getting moody.

Liam stepped in-between Louis and Sadie before there was a chance for a full blown argument to develop.

"Sadie, Louis is right you don't know us," Liam said calmly, "yes, we don't exactly have a normal lifestyle, but please, let us prove ourselves to you by letting us look after Harry for 6 months. If we pass, then you have to allow us to adopt Harry."

Sadie glared at Liam and then Louis.

"Fine but I will be doing unannounced drop-ins." She huffed.

"Deal," said Liam. Louis was about to fire back to her on her behavior but Liam hushed him.

After 4 hours the boys had signed all the needed paperwork to get temporary custody of Harry for the next 6 months.

"Right, now that that's all done, I'm off. I hope you know what you're in for and I will have my eyes on you four," said Sadie, packing up her stuff and leaving the boys alone with Harry.

"Right, now that that bitch is gone, we can work out what we need to get for Harry," said Niall, "we'll have to speak to management about him coming on tour with us and get him a tutor."

"Yeah, we'll do that in the morning," said Liam, "why don't you and I stay with Harry and make a list of things to talk to management about. Louis and Zayn you guys go out and get him some new clothes. Anything else he might need for now and order a few decorations to kit out a room at the house for him to make it feel more homely." said Liam.

"Cool, see ya later boys," said Zayn as he and Louis left for the shopping center.

"Well," said Niall, "one of us needs to explain to management how we're not just staying with Harry for a month, but six months and possibly even longer."

"And what to say to the fans," said Liam, writing it all down on a piece of paper.

Soon Liam and Niall had a long list of things to discuss.

Meanwhile, Louis and Zayn were having fun shopping.

They had brought so many things for Harry. They had gotten him a phone, a laptop, some new clothes, an iPad and iPod, a new back-pack and them normal stuff a teenage boy needs.

Then they got stuff for his new room at theirs. Once they were done they went to the house to sort out his room and put his clothes in the closet.

"You think he's gonna like it?" asked Zayn.

"He's gonna love it," said Louis.

They grabbed some of Harry's new clothes and headed over to the hospital. They'll sort the phone and other electronics out when they get home with him.

By the time they get back to the hospital Harry's waking back up.

"Hey, sleepyhead look what we got you," said Louis, placing some of the new clothes on the bed.

Harry looked at them curiously.

"But I got clothes," Harry said, looking for the clothes he had on when he arrived at the hospital.

"We know, "Louis said, smiling at Harry, "but we thought you might like a variety now that you're going to be living with us."

Harry just nodded unsurely.

A doctor walked in and checked Harry over.

"Everything looks good," the doctor said, "at this rate, he'll be able to go home by tomorrow."

"Hear that, Harry? You can come home with us tomorrow." smiled Niall.

"Are you sure you want me?" whispered Harry. Still not believing the words 'cause through his life he was told that he's worthless and no body wants him.

"Of course we're sure," said Liam.
