"You're part of the authorities, right?" I ask, obviously knowing the answer.

"Yes, I am." The officer says more like a question.

"That means I can trust you, yeah?" I feel my body trembling now.

"Ma'am, whatever it is you can always trust us." He says as if there were more people in the conversation.

"I have a confession." I sniff and take a moment to keep myself together. "I didn't mean to crash." I start.

"We figured that much, let's hope that your insurance with cover." He interrupts.

"No, I don't care about that. I mean, I didn't mean to," I close my eyes tightly, "but I wish that it killed me."

I keep my eyes closed, a bit fearful of what's next.

"Hey, hey, it's going to be okay. Why do you wish for such a thing to happen to you?"

My breath quickens and I yearn for air to fill my lungs; like something stole my right to breathe or speak any further.

"Ma'am what is it? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

The voice sounds distant as my head becomes light and dizzy. Standing upright is no longer an option as I find the ground more pleasing.

Crack.

My skull hits the ground hard, probably bleeding. Dark spots cover patches of my eyesight.

The officer's call for help fades into the abyss of my mind as everything starts to fade into sweet nothing. Such sweet, sweet nothing. Everything that I've wanted for so long now is finally mine.
