Leila extended her arm to her alarm clock and hit snooze while her face remained on her pillow.

"Is it time already?" She said with a groggy voice, talking to herself. "Ugh... my head. Just a few more minutes... what time is it anyway?" She looked at her clock with one eye and saw 7:30 on its face.

"Oh... okay..." she said, turning her face back to her pillow... until she realized,

"OH SHIT. Ohhhh SHIT. Oh shit-oh shit-oh shit!!! I'm gonna be late!"

Her class was 8:00am. She jumped out of her bed quickly and went to her bathroom, running. She quickly washed her face and showered for about 5 minutes, went to her bedroom and put on the first thing she saw in her closet; a black shirt, one of her old jeans and her favorite pair of sneakers. She put on her backpack, went downstairs and picked up her lunch money that was left on the counter minutes ago by her mother, and quickly took a bite from a sandwich she saw from the same counter.

"Finally you're awake. You're gonna be late you know." A voice said from behind Leila.

"I know, mom... why do you think I'm running and panicking? I gotta go. Byeee" She said, glancing at her mother and turning to go to the door.

"Your hair's still dripping wet. You sure you don't want to stay for a little bit longer? Drink some milk to go with that sandwich you just bit on" Her mother said.

"What?? No. I'm already running late as it is. And I don't want milk, mommm. I'm 18. My height will remain the same." She said, smirking from the doorway then finally leaving.

Leila was just a few minutes late for her first class. The professor was still not around. She sat down beside her friend Alex who smiled as soon as she saw her.

"Hey girl! I missed you! Omg. Are you wearing what I think you're wearing? In the first day of class??" Alex said as soon as she caught a glimpse of Leila's rugged outfit.

"What? You know me. I'm not really much of a 'fashionista'. Besides, I like my outfit. It's simple and comfortable." She said, laughing a little.

"No. No, no, no, no... no! Leila! This is the FIRST day of our senior year in college. This is when ALL our juniors and batchmates take a glimpse of us. Everything we do and everything we 'wear'. We're seniors now Leila... come on. Exert more effort. Your social life and your LOVE LIFE is at stake, and we 'both' know you're still not going anywhere in that direction. Mhmm! Especially on the latter." She said, wiggling her finger at me.

"Alex... you know I don't care about all that. I'm just here to enjoy my last two semesters in college. I'm not even hoping that a guy would notice me, or anyone who I don't care about, for that matter, which is basically anyone who isn't my family, you, Zed or Jacob. So chill." Leila replied, not giving a crap about what Alex just said to her.

"I give up." Alex sighed as the professor went in.

After class, Leila went to eat lunch with her two closest guy friends, Zed and Jacob, since Alex left her and went to eat with her boyfriend yet again.

"Have you gotten fat?" Zed asked Leila.

"What? Seriously?" Leila looked at her belly. "Ehh, I don't care." She replied, throwing her arms around.

"I can answer that. No, you haven't. You're still pretty." Jacob said with a smile and a wink, looking at Leila who smirked at his sudden save. "And look who's talking, fatso." He exclaimed at Zed who gave him the eye.

"Hey! I'm not 'that' fat. I'm just... sorta out of shape right now." Zed added, playing with his food.

"Ha! Well, alright Mr. Out of Shape." Jacob replied, raising his eyebrow at his friend.
