It had been a long day. A LONG DAY. Zack and Trini had woken up in the med bay, resting off whatever the toad had knocked them out with. Alpha was tending to them, and Kimberly never left Trini's side. But things felt normal now. Zack was even teasing Kimberly about all the sultry things she said in front of Ms. Appleby, who in turn gave a mortified look that gave away her internal monologue of embarrassment. Things could have gone really sour, but once again they saved Angel Grove from another otherworldly threat. Another would come for sure. The call of the Zeo Crystal virtually guaranteed it. But they'd be ready.

After checking in with the others, Jason meandered out to the rocky training pit overlooking the Zord Bay where Billy was sitting. He snuck in beside him and sat close, giving him a sidelong glance before looking forward as well.

"Hell of a day, right?" He said with a half smirk. Billy smiled for a moment, then looked down as if he was regretting something.

"I remember some of the things I said, Jason. And I'm... I'm sorry. Sometimes I just... I don't understand why you like me. You're you and I'm just... some dork that likes science and country music." He shrugged, almost leaning away from him. Jason pursed his lips and laid his hand down on top of Billy's before pulling his fingers to intwine with his own.

"There's lots of things I like about you. You're face when you're trying to solve a puzzle. That chubby nose. The way you geek out over 'ALIEN TECHNOLOGY.'" He teased, playfully mocking his earlier sentiments. He grew quiet for a moment himself and then gave his hand a squeeze.

"I'm... sorry I haven't been forthcoming about the... you know, sex stuff. I have a reputation and I guess I'm embarrassed that I literally don't live up to it." He nodded, possibly even blushing a bit. Billy's cheeks felt hot now as well, and he quirked an eyebrow and looked up at him.

"I get scared too. Always making up excuses about homework. We aren't sure I guess."

Jason nodded, twisting his body ever so slightly to face him and cupping both of his hands in his own.

"Neither one of us are very uh... knowledgeable in this situation. Before you I just assumed I hadn't found the right girl. I kissed some girls and it just... didn't click. But you... we work. It's so new that I think we're both scared of making a mistake. And I absolutely don't want it to be a mistake." Jason pondered, giving a moment of vulnerability.

"When the time is right, it will happen, okay? We'll know. And we won't be able to stop ourselves. But I think we needed to have that little... spat. To address the fears we didn't know we had." He gave a soft smile. Billy looked at him, wide eyed with wonder, and gave a nod in agreeance.

"We'll know. I already know it's you. I just have to wait to find out when it will happen." Billy smirked, relieved.

Then they kissed. Sweetly and soft. They were in love. There was no need to rush these things.
