"Kitty are you alright in there?"
Rosik calls through the weak white wood and I softly curse under my breath as the warm water spirals down my body."I'm fine." I grit out and try to keep my breathing steady, attempting to ignore the fact that the bathroom door has no lock and what happened the last time I was in a bathroom with Rosik around.
I should have known better than to test my luck.
After vomiting up my first meal on this ship I felt, as you would expect absolutely disgusting.
I couldn't face my cousin again without some renewed strength and confidence. So I decided on a quick shower, uninterrupted by Rosik who I was hoping would remain 'working' for quite some time.
I then planned to find a spare toothbrush to rid the awful taste of vomit and then finally I'd find a book to share with Dana until either one of us or both of us finally fell asleep.
Picturesque.
Peaceful.
A beautiful family moment.
Completely and utterly unrealistic..."Dana told me that you were throwing up. Do I need to come in? Are you sick?" Rosik's words are filled to the brim with delusional care but I feel his false emotion run off of my body as quickly as the water-drops.
"No! I am fine. Must have been the rocking of the ship." I call out slightly out of breath and due to anxiety I naturally turn so that my back is facing the door, just in case he does decide to come in uninvited.
"Get out of the shower now Kitty. I want to talk to you." I bite back my harsh reply, heavily portraying how much I don't want to talk to him and instead force myself to turn off the taps.
I don't want to be doing anything he says but remaining in the shower, naked and vulnerable is not a position I want Rosik to see me in.
I quickly grab the nearby white towel and wrap it tightly around my body, leaning down I pick up my blue shirt from the ground however the turning of the handle freezes my body mid-bend.
"Not yet!" I try to interject and I attempt to stumble forward to push the door shut again but the steam from the shower leaves me disoriented and I don't reach the door in time.
Instead I only unwillingly close the gap between both Rosik and I as he leans against the doorway and smirks at my form which is only a handful of steps away from him.
"You look presentable to me."
Rosik softly says under his breath and I shiver violently, causing his smile to widen further.I straighten and clench my shirt tighter in my hand, wanting nothing more than to also pick up my pants and get changed as quickly as possible but with Rosik lurking I don't see that happening.
"I'm alive... You can go now."
I sarcastically reply although my heavy breathing betrays my act of confidence. My eyebrows scrunch in frustration as Rosik remains annoyingly in the same position, one leg crossed over the other.
"This isn't your bathroom Kitty. We have our own." Rosik continues as if he never heard my earlier words and I fight the urge to fidget under his travelling gaze.
"This was closer at the time... And I'll be out of it soon, the moment I get changed I'll be out." I promise, my words rushed and tinged with slight desperation as my white knuckles clench tighter around the towel.
