We barely made one lap around the upper deck before we were interrupted.
Once we left the elevator I was able to unclasp Rosiks hand from my own although he insisted on keeping it firmly flat between my shoulder blades. Claiming that 'It was for my own protection.'
Some bullshit alpha/ownership thing I'm assuming but it certainly worked seeing as the moment we arrived at the open space all eyes fell to the floorboards.
The sun is fresh in the sky, providing a lazy heat that tickles my neck and face. The wind is quite sharp, contrasting the welcoming sun, it's brisk and abusive as it slaps at any exposed skin. I'm glad for the jacket as we make our way over to the railing and peer over the edge, into the vast blue ocean.
I have no fear of being shoved overboard, knowing that even if I slipped Rosik would be falling in right behind me.
Not too sure whether Eddie would be willing to stop the ship though.
I'm not exactly in the captains good books at the moment.Proving my point Rosik shifts his hand to grasp my shoulder as I clench the railings and lean slightly over, breathing in the salty air deeply.
"So... Are you planning on living like a pirate for the rest of your life? Only heading to shore for supplies and new entertainment?" I call out over my shoulder, the last word sticks in my throat but I keep my gaze away from Rosik, not wanting him to see how important this question is to me.
"No... This is temporary."
Rosik responds cautiously and he tugs me back so that I'm flat-footed on the deck again, obviously not trusting me not to fall in."So how long then?" I respond beginning to walk along the edges of the ship, not waiting for Rosik particularly but confident that he'll remain glued to my side with no intervention needed on my part.
"Just a few days, then we'll be home." Rosik proudly states by my side and I caution a glance at his expression and I'm annoyed by the absolute joy covering his features.
When he realises that this isn't a fairytale and that he isn't the prince getting the girl he is going to flip his shit.
Part of me hopes to see it,
a bigger part of me hopes to survive it."I'm guessing an address is out of the question? What if I want to write some letters." I sarcastically respond and Rosik chuckles, shaking his head and bouncing his dark curls.
"To who? You have barely any family and you knew better than to make any friends. You knew that I was all you needed." Rosiks words stop my brisk pace and I turn to him frowning.
"I had... Have friends!" I stammer out and I can't help the blush that reddens my cheeks, causing Rosiks eyes to shine brighter.
"I hope you're not counting me anymore Katherine. I'm afraid that ship has sailed..." A voice calls out from behind us and both Rosik and I spin around and face Eddie as he leans on the railing, one leg crossed over the other, a cocky edge oozing out of him.
"Oh my heart... How could you shatter it so?" I respond darkly without missing a beat and Eddie viciously smiles, showing all his teeth.
His eye is absolutely horrendous, to the point where I can't help but feel a trickle of concern.
It's barely been twenty-four hours and already the gash running down Eddies right eye is gaining a mustard-like colouring around the edges.
An obvious sign of infection while the eye itself is watery, red and the eyesocket remains swollen.
"So you were talking about Katherines friends Rosik? Well like I told you, she was a hermit. Practically threw herself at me when I showed a slight bit of interest..." I grit my teeth as Rosiks hand returns to my own and he pries himself between my clenched fingers.
