SHE PEERED FROM BEHIND HER HAIR AT THE MAN SEATED ACROSS FROM HER, and flinched ever-so-slightly at the intense look in his eyes that seemed to be drilling a hole right though her skull.

She shuddered in both fear and pleasure under his gaze, emerald eyes avoiding all contact with his golden ones.

One, singular thought echoed through her mind一 'I'm fucked.'

Her and her big mouth. Why couldn't she have kept it closed?! It would have done her some much better if her tongue had not gone ahead of her brain.

As a doctor, she was disappointed in her brain cells, her neurons especially.

As she thought that, the words of a certain old man resurfaced from the depths of her memory archives, making her internally grimace at the thought of having to face him once she were to return.

"Remember Sakura, you are, under no circumstances, to reveal anything about the dead to the living beings of earth. Such knowledge can break one's psyche, so thread carefully."

Damn that old fart and his rules.

She felt like slapping herself. The old man Yammamoto was going to throw a hissy fit at her the moment she steps in his office.

Might as well call the funeral parlour.

Heaving a deep sigh, her eyes hardened as she turned to glance at the imposing 一 and very much deadly 一 demon that currently glared at her. His gaze was scary, but damn it, she's seen worse! Even Muroichi's face was creepier! So, putting on her big girl pants, Sakura looked straight into death's eyes. Oh, the irony.

"I may have not been so truthful with you as I should have been." She confessed, shame lacing her every word.

His slanted eyes narrowed even more. "Explain." He ordered, the venom and harshness of his tone on par with Lord Biyakuya's, but then again, Lord Biyakuya had never actually been mean to her.

Bitting her lower lip, she stared at the hands in her lap, fingers intertwined with one another. She was at conflict. She was already idiotic enough to have allowed her excitement get the best of her in the worst of moments, and telling the whole truth to this god-like beauty of a man seemed like the logical way out, but even this way out was littered with traps and weapons一big ass weapons.

She shouldn't worry, she reminded herself. This was the son of Lord Toga, so he might hear her out before attempting to cut her head off. She flinched inwardly. She definitely did not want to loose her head today.

Taking in a deep, loud breath一which quickly drew the attention of the daiyokai upon her as he raised a beamused brow一she began her explanation. Well, 'rant' would seem a more fitting word given the circumstances.
