The Lunus
Skin: Cold colours - white, blue, purple and ash shades are most common.
Build: Slender with long legs and muscle from their dexterous travel methods.
Hair: Generally a paler or darker version of their skin colour.
Identifiable Features: Their horns which mimic the moon, their elongated and pointed ears and their flatter faces.
Height: Between 5ft 10in and 7ftA proud and elegant race, said to be born of a fallen star, thrown by The Goddess. Horns typically protrude from their skulls, imitating the curve of the moon, though many Lunians exist without horns. Their faces are flatter than an average humanoid, as their pointed ears extend outwards. Members with traditionally Lunian features are regarded in high esteem as they are seen as more blessed by the heavens than those more humanoid. They are generally very slender and quite tall, allowing them to be extremely dexterous. Those of high standing tend to have delicate markings on their cool-toned skin to show their standing, generally in slivers, greys, whites and blacks. Higher ranks have paler markings. Their skin naturally takes on colder colours, like blues, purples and in the white to black spectrum.
Under stress, they undergo distinct personality changes. More notably, when in a fury a Lunian's eyes will take one solid colour and their teeth and nails sharpen and lengthen. When in a fury a Lunian may only calm themselves, any attempt of outside help will end in disaster. Avoid at all costs.
The Human
Skin: Variation of tan colours.
Build: Average, with no one type being more common. Ranges from obese to muscular to malnourished.
Hair: Typically neutral colours like brown, black, grey, blonde...
Identifiable Features: None, perhaps their curved ears and general confidence.
Height: Commonly ranging between 4ft and 6ft 6in in adulthood, with males typically taller than females.Being the most sociable of the races, humans strive to communicate with everyone. They are the most advanced race when it comes to building and trade, having centred their towns and cities around their impressive guilds. Humankind are said to have been built from the clay of the rivers they are surrounded by, which is why they do not have a more complex anatomy. They have enhanced defences, with reinforced walls and trained militia they send on expeditions to find new races. Humans tend not to have magical ancestry, or in many cases they do not even have a magical circuit in general, but are more skilled at many crafts, creative pursuits and strict trained regimen. They have exceptional trade opportunities and impressive strength both in body and in numbers.
The Verkai
Skin: Typically either darker tones of their Lunian heritage or more forest-like camouflage (browns, greens, yellows, blacks). Also generally depends on the animal heritage in their bloodline. For example, an Avian Verkai of raven descent may lean more towards black.q
Build: Generally synonymous with their heritage. For example Ursidae Verkai tend to have wide frames, whilst Rodent Verkai tend to be smaller in stature.
Hair: The same rule applies in which heritage is key. Most commonly, however, in their regular form their hair tends to fall into darker categories.
Identifiable Features: Varies from heritage, though Verkai have eyes that are notably further apart.
Average Height: Ranges from 4ft to 8ft in adulthood. The Verkai are closely related to the Lunus, but prefer to focus their efforts on the land they were given instead of turning to the skies. Over the centuries - and through some curious encounters - they have become part forest creature, which makes them easy to identify as Verkaind over Lunian. Typically they have only features of the animal they share a lineage with, such as the Wolven Verkai tend to be harier than an average Lunus, however they are labelled a Verkai - and join the Verkai settlement - when their features become more prominent, as they tend to do as night falls.
In the night, they take on more of their animalistic ancestry, typically changing their physical form quite significantly. An Avian Verkai, for example, may get significantly smaller and their arms may be replaced with wings. In the same thought, however, they also gain their ancestors evolutionary benefits, such as enhanced eyesight or heightened hearing. This change forced the Verkai to start their own civilisation on the outskirts of Blackbridge. They put their efforts into protecting the Lunian's heritage, the land and the creatures they so closely relate to.
The Aka
Skin: Variations of tan.
Build: Muscular.
Hair: Reds and coppers of all shades. Often a lot of it, kept untamed and sometimes dreaded.
Identifiable Features: Besides their fiery hair, their fur tipped tails which they often use as an extra limb is notable.
Average Height: Ranging from 6ft to 6ft 10in in adulthood.A race broken into clans by gender, meeting once a year for their annual Likho festivities, a week long celebration of the sweet joys of the world, from feasting on grown fruits to laying with the rest of their kind. They are notable by their red "warpaint" painted on their bodies, their dexterous tails with fur tips and their masses of messy hair.
They are very skilled with bludgeoning weaponry, opting for quarter staffs and clubs over swords. They are also very skilled hunters, knowing their surrounding land in a way that is impossible to understand to an outsider. They are often wary of the opposing gender, but generally out of ignorance.
The Tocher
Skin: Warm colours - Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, etc.
Build: Strong, muscular.
Hair: Braided, often the same or very close in colour to their skin or the desert.
Identifiable Features: Their impressive stature.
Average Height: Ranges from 12ft to 15ft in adulthood.A very large race, towering above other races by several feet. They are very stocky in build and very heavy handed, generally lacking in the grace that smaller races can manage. Tocheren can easily carry boulders with their enlarged bodies, but lack the delicate touch necessary to wield a rapier or bow. Everything they use - unless made by one of their own - requires several times the resources and a formidable craftsman.
Their skin generally mimics their desert surroundings, mostly in warmer sand colours, while their hair tends to be braided to keep out of their way. Braids will only be cut when a crime is committed against their own kind. They find themselves drawn to the smaller races and due to this the shamans created Novuk amulets, which when worn will allow the Acher wearing it to be the same height as an average Aka, due to their close proximity. Most Acher refuse to use their Novuk, believing in a rumour that was spread surrounding the term 'shrinking', likenining it to the term 'belittling'.
The Reigahr
Skin: Browns and Greens
Build: Short and stocky
Hair: No specific or notable rules
Identifiable Features: Height, larger eyes and wing shaped ears
Average Height: 3ft to 5ftTypically born with runes around their wrists and ankles, this race is often dubbed "wee witches" which leads to them commonly being referred to as such as their race - Weewitch - but this is untrue. The Reigahr are a very cheeky race, fans of mischief and enjoy companionship. As far as has been documented, they are said to have enchanted their specific runes for a purpose useful to them. Some are capable of very little, with their runes merely able to levitate small objects, whilst others are capable of forming shields, weapons or even monstrous large hands capable of wrapping around a Tocher's waist.
