It was the better part of the night before our time to talk everything out came along, after they left us to calm down. We were all put in separate cells and kept apart for our own 'safety'. My mother was let out far earlier than either of us, yet was still held for most of the night, which I was happy with. She was released in the early hours of the morning, told to go home due to them not knowing how long it would take to go through our statements.
They moved myself and the human into a shared cell with wooden beams separating the two of us. He spent the entire time staring at me, analysing everything I was doing, studying my movements... he scared me. Like he had figured it all out and was now planning some kind of revenge for my destroying his life.
After two long hours of avoiding his gaze, I heard footsteps approaching the cell. A familiar face came round the corner, with the same proud stride that I could recognise from miles away. The dark blue skin reflected the flickering candlelight and the light clung to the muscular yet lean frame. Therren's green eyes distracted my every thought from this human to my all too familiar companion, as he opened the door to my cell.
"Nyla?"
I leapt up, completely forgetting my fake persona, bounding over to him. He took me by my restraints and removed me from my cell. He closed the door, gave a respectful nod to the man whose eyes had still not look away from me, then took me off to the interview room.
