[ November 13, 2019 : Chaldea ]

Fujimaru Ritsuka, a Master in Chaldea, walked the halls of Chaldea. He didn't have a place in mind. There weren't any mission to accomplish, so it was a slow day today. You could say it's his day off.

Which was a pretty good thing because today is...

"Ritsuka-senpai!"

The young adult stops at his tracks and turns when he heard someone call out to him down the hall behind him.

There are only two people who call him senpai in Chaldea. It couldn't be Mashu because she only refers to Ritsuka as just "Senpai." Maybe "Ritsuka-senpai" on some rare occasions, but this voice wasn't hers.

So it could only be one other person.

"Oh, Mahiru-chan."

Running to him was a redhead girl with a white feather accessory in her ponytail, wearing a uniform identical to his, his junior Shiratori Mahiru. Mahiru is a fellow Master, just recently became a member of Chaldea, but you can tell she's getting the hang of it. She was waving to him with a big smile on her face.

"Ritsuka-senpai, I heard the big news!" she exclaimed once she reached Ritsuka.

"Big news?" he asked. "What do you mean? Do we have a mission?"

The girl just giggled. "No, thankfully. Today is your birthday, isn't it?"

Ritsuka stood there dumbfounded for a second, until he realized, it IS his birthday!

"O-oh, it is!" Ritsuka exclaimed.

"Don't tell me you forgot your own birthday," Mahiru asked as she giggled.

"No, not really. I just wasn't expecting someone to know."

"Well, I do! So happy birthday, Ritsuka-senpai!"

Ritsuka smiles at his junior. "Thank you, Mahiru-chan. That's really sweet of you."

"Hehe~ Don't thank me just yet~" she said in a singsong voice.

"Huh? Why is that?"

"I got you a present!"

"Oh, you didn't have to do that."

"I wanted to," she rebutted. "It's also my way of saying thanks for showing me the ropes."

"I can't really say no, huh? And after you went through the trouble."

"Yay!" Mahiru cheered as she jumped up and down like a child on Christmas. Ritsuka couldn't help but giggle at his junior's behavior.
