Chapter 34: (Xavier's POV)- Blushed Beautifully
She kept that smile on her face before excusing herself and running away gracefully. I kept in my laugh until she couldn't hear before letting it out and crashing on my bed, knocking out moments later.
I woke up to the sound of loud laughter, squeals, and shrieks coming from downstairs. I stirred before rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and getting out of bed, not bothering to put my shirt on. I walked out of my room and stopped at the top of the stairs and began watching the scene unfold in front of me.
Aubrey was standing at my porch, laughing with someone who I soon found out after going down a set of stairs to see Peter holding her in his arms and spinning her around before setting her down and poking her to make her laugh.
My jaw clenched before I went back up and into my room, heading to my bathroom and brushing my teeth, I guess I'm gonna have to try that silent treatment thing again. Once I refreshed myself, deciding to take a shower later tonight, I threw on a fresh pair of grey joggers and kept my shirt off, who knows, maybe it'll help my argument.
I went down to make myself breakfast to see her sitting on my porch, talking to him while he sat beside her. I noticed that she kept the door open so she wouldn't get locked out and I'm not gonna lie, I thought of locking them both out but why the hell would I want to leave her out with him? I need to bring her in and then lock him out. But is she going to let that happen? I don't think so. I need to bring her inside.
"Aubrey, where did you keep the cereal?" I called out. Original, I know. Smart, right? Funny thing is, I know that she doesn't eat cereal unless there's absolutely nothing else to eat. I heard her groan.
"I'll be right back," she said to him. "What do you want? I don't eat cereal, you know that." She huffed while walking into the kitchen and resting her palms onto the counter, grabbing the edge of it while leaning forward.
"Well, there's no one else in the house and I can't find the cereal. If you didn't eat it then where the hell did it go?" I asked while opening the pantry, glad that the cereal was at the back and invisible from where she was standing.
She rolled her eyes, "Are you sure it isn't there? Did you check properly, Parker? If I find it I swear to god," she spoke through gritted teeth while walking over to me.
I took this as an opportunity to back up and head over to the front door while she grabbed the cereal.
"I see it but I can't reach it." she stretched, going onto her toes to try and grab it but failing due to her adorably short height. She turned to look at me, making me freeze. "Can you get it? It's on the topmost shelf? I'll be right back just let me tell him to leave," she spoke while ushering over to the front door and stepping out.
I stood there, behind the door listening to their conversation.
"I have to go, you should go, I know your friends are probably waiting for you."
I guess he had plans but stopped by just to see her. "Can I call you later?" he asked her.
They fell into silence which told me she was hesitating. "Um- I'm a little busy today but I'll call you when I'm free, okay?" She lied straight to his face, and I loved it, every second of it.
"Oh okay, sure," he said before I heard footsteps fading away.
I heard her let out a groan and sigh before she mumbled, "All for an asshole."
I smiled to myself before rushing over and grabbing the cereal. "Got it," I grinned as she walked back over to me.
"Great," she gave me a small smile. "So uh- do you have any plans for today?" she asked me.
