I sat on the backseat of Louis' car, listening to the unfamiliar music on the radio while he and his friend talked with each other. Not going to lie, I was beyond uncomfortable. When I entered in the car Lorena only asked my name before she went back to whatever she was doing, not even caring to know more about me, the girl she didn't even know and was in the same car as her. They were the most careless people I have ever met.
Louis turned his head to look at me. "You're really quiet, you know."
I frowned. "No, I'm not."
"He is right," Lorena stated, without taking her eyes of her phone. "You didn't say a single word since we met, and we've been on the road for two hours already."
"Which is ridiculous. We don't bite, Clove." Louis completed.
"Okay, I'll keep that in my mind." I mumble, wanting this awkward conversation to end.
They were nice and all, however I was tired, starving and not in the mood to talk. My arms and legs were cold, the only clothes I had on were a black t-shirt and a pair of denim shorts, and they weren't enough to keep me warm.
I wanted to know where we were, but as I looked around I only saw trees and no other cars or civilization whatsoever. It scared me a little, because I was inside a car with two strangers, on a desert road.
My bony index finger poked Louis' shoulder. "Where are we?"
He shrugged. "I don't know. Where are we, Lori?"
Lorena sighed. "Louis, if not even you know, what makes you think I do?"
"Lorena," Louis mocked her, using the same tone of voice she did. "use your fucking gps."
She stuck her tongue out for him, grasping her phone from the jeans pocket, sliding the button to unlock it.
"We're in..." she waited the gps to load. "Aleysbury?"
"Never heard of," I commented.
"It's a lovely place. Besides it also means we're just a few hours of distance from London." Louis turned his head to look at me, a smile gracing his lips.
Even though London was not where I wanted to be in the first place, I was relieved to finally be able to take a shower and have a proper night of sleep.
"Louis," I shyly called. I wasn't comfortable around them yet. "can you increase the volume of the radio? Please?"
"Sure,"
He did what I asked and soon Ed Sheeran's beautiful voice filled my ears. His voice brought back so many memories I was trying so hard to forget, however it also made me feel like I was back home, listening to my brother play his guitar while he sang
I rested my head on the seat, feeling my eyelids become heavier by every second, until I couldn't keep it open anymore and slept.
