So, I'll get to making a birthday chapter in Don't Blame Yourself soon enough, but I said I was going to make a serious Satoshi x Yoshiki book, so here it is. It's perfect for today.

But I have to do stuff today, so it might take a few days to complete, but it's just going to be short for a birthday present... It's something, right? x3 Also, Heavenly Host never happened... Because birthday magic, yo.

Kishinuma Yoshiki's P.O.V

"Onii-san, you can't just sit there and pretend not to care!" Miki snapped at me over the phone. She always called me on my birthday, despite me telling her not to, since it would only get her in trouble. Stubborn little girl. She hates that all I do for my birthday is skip school. But today was different, I was actually going. I don't know why...maybe because I really needed to catch up with my grades.

"Yes, I can, Miki. Now get off the phone before mom and dad found out you're talking to me." I reply. She huffs, though it sounds more like a pained exhale over the phone...crappy ass cell. I run my hand through my hair out of habit. I was sitting in my room on my bed, glancing at the time every so often. It was almost time to leave. "And plus I'm leaving for school soon."

"W-What?! Y-You're not even staying home today?!" She sputters. "Unacceptable! You have to do something for your birthday, Onii-san! That's a order from me! No exceptions!" I smiled.

"Fine. I'll do something. First, I'll hang up on you before saying goodbye, so you don't get in trouble since I can hear them calling you, second, I'll confess to somebody." Before she can even respond, I press the 'end' button on my phone. It might have just been my imagination, but I was sure I heard her laugh before I disconnected the call.

Grabbing my jacket from beside me, I shoved my phone into my pocket. I was already outside my room at this point. I lived in a small apartment, like, really small. I only had a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and one bedroom. It was enough, though, for someone who had only a little bit of stuff. My living room was just a chair and desk with my laptop on it.

I flung my black jacket over my shoulders, not even bothering to zip it up, even though there was a little bit of frost on my window, which meant it was a little cold. Picking up my bag, I was out the door and into the hallway within seconds of leaving my room. I had checked the time on my phone before I closed it. It was 8:15. I was running late... Well, I would be late for school. This was actually three minutes before I left normally. Yay?

The building was small; only three floors and no basement, and dingy. There was no carpet in the halls, only bare, dirty floor that looked decades old. The paint on the walls was peeling off. You would be surprised about how nice the rooms were by looking at this decrepit excuse for a building. It was even more shocking about how cheap it was.

I walked down the stairs, not even having to pay attention. I had lived on the second floor for two years now, so getting out of the building was as effortless as breathing.

The secretary was reading her book as always, not evening glancing as I walked by. I didn't care...heh. I guess we both had something in common. We could hardly care less about each other's existence. In fact, I could care less about most of the worlds existence...

I opened the door to feel the cold air against my face and neck. No one walked around the old, forgotten streets. Leaves were falling from a dying oak tree. I had a good feeling the leaves weren't just falling because it was autumn. The cool air was a little more than a breeze, making my jacket fly a little bit backwards as it passed me.

I always enjoyed looking at the little things as I walked alone to Kisargi. The feeling of the air against my skin, how the leaf twirled in the wind... It was all so soothing. I spent my lunches on the roof, alone thankfully, just for these little details. Also, it gave me a private place to smoke. I learnt my lesson from smoking in the bathroom.

I heard voices to the east of me. I recongnized them immediately.

"Mochida-kun dumped Nakashima-san?! No wonder she won't talk to him! I was wondering why they were staying as far away from each other as possible!" Shinozaki was talking to Suzumoto. I wondered if Morishige was nearby, since Suzumoto and him were literally the same person; you can't seperate them or they'll die.

I saw them come into view as I left the alley I was just in. Morishige was there, listening to Suzumoto, but staying silent. She had dragged him along, huh?

"I heard Mochida-kun say: 'I-I'm sorry, Naomi... B-But I can't keep on pretending to like you when I like someone else...'. I felt bad for him! He had feelings for her before, and then he doesn't after a few weeks of dating!" Suzumoto and Shinozaki hadn't noticed I was there, even though I had just stopped a few feet behind them. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I needed to cross the street, too, so I wasn't about to just stay out of earshot and wait.

"That's too bad. They were such a cute couple." Shinozaki sighed. A 'beep' went off, notifying us we could walk. I stayed behind them, still unnoticed, as they kept talking about the latest gossip in our group of friends. I was used to being ignored... Especially by Shinozaki. She just normally called me a jerk or something when I said something rude. I was used to it.

I lost all feelings for her, after she got a boyfriend and told me I could fuck off. I guess I decided it wasn't worth it. Running away from things again... I really need to stop doing that. If something happens that is a life or death situation and I run away... I could never forgive myself for ditching my only friends...

"Yoshiki...!" I heard someone shout at me. Shinozaki and Suzumoto turned around, jumped at realizing the blonde moron was behind them, and I saw Satoshi run at me from my peripheral vision. His little sister, Yuka, was nowhere in sight. Strange... I waited for the brunette male to fall in step beside me.

"Hey, Satoshi, where's Yuka?" I ask, shoving my hands into my pockets casually. He was panting. How far had he ran?

"I was about to ask you the same question. She ran ahead of me, and by the time I noticed she was gone... She was literally gone." He sighed breathlessly. Shinozaki looked concerned, but Suzumoto had a smile on her face.

"... She probably wanted to beat you to school, Mochida. I saw a middle schooler that looked something like Yuka running on the other side of the street." Morishige said. Suzumoto giggled, whispered something to Shinozaki, before the three walked ahead of us.

"Oh..." He said, sounding a little...happy? I shrugged it off, since he had already asked me another question. "So, how are you?" He had never started a conversation like this with me.

"The same. I take it your being the idiot you always are but I get blamed for?" I tease him. He playfully punches me in the shoulder. "I'm just being honest..."

"Screw you." He mumbled. I chuckled. "Do you have work tonight?" He asked. I shook my head.

"It's Friday, I only have work Saturday to Thursday." (Somewhere in the world November 8 is Friday.)

"That's great!... Uh... Well, I want all of us to meet up tonight at my place..." I saw a blush spread across his face. What was up with Satoshi today?

"I guess I could make it. As much as I would loove to spend today in my apartment alone arguing for an extra shift." I roll my eyes. "Yes, I'll come."

Kisargi was right ahead of us; the school gate was a mere yard away.

"W-Wait! Can you get here early? I need help...planning...for what to do! Yeah..." I nodded. I shook his hand off of me, and continued to walk.

"Happy birthday, Yoshiki..."
