'Why is it so dark here?Where am I?'I thought to myself.

"Hello!!? Is anybody there?"

I say as I try to walk being careful not to trip and fall.

I've always hated darkness.

Since when I was a little kid,I was always afraid of the dark, even though I used to put up a strong face and act like I wasn't scared,but on the inside my heart would beat so fast, that it seemed like it was trying to escape from my chest and that's exactly how I was feeling at the moment.

Suddenly I heard rustling behind me.

I stopped walking and strained my hearing trying to pick up on the noise without turning and seeing who or what was standing behind me.

The rustling seemed to get closer and closer,until I felt something near my neck inhaling and that's when I started running.

I was full on sprinting.

I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life and for my life.

As I was running god knows where,I noticed a small light ahead of me and pushed myself to run even faster.

When I reached it and was about to go through the light , whatever that creature was, that was following me, jumped in front of me blocking my exit out of this darkness.

"Calm down, little mate.I'm not going to hurt you."

Said the giant wolf in front of me.

"W-What are you,cause from your size you're definitely not a normal wolf?"

I asked while stuttering.

"I'm a werewolf. I was there trying to help you,when you got hurt."

He said.

"Y-You were?"

I asked surprised at what he said.

"Yes,I was.I wasn't going to let a rogue hurt my mate."

He said through gritted teeth,getting angry at the memory.

I thought he was going to attack me,so I took a careful step back saying:

"Listen,I don't know who you really are. I've never seen your real face except for your wolf and I won't tell anyone about you,so just let me leave."

He watched my stance for a while,then he lowered his eyes to the ground and said with sadness in his voice:

"You're scared of me."

Hearing him state that made a feeling of sadness go through my heart and without thinking I approached him.

When I was just one foot away from him , I asked:

"Why does that matter to you?"

"Because we're soulmates and you being scared of me means that you can reject me and I really don't want that."
