It's been a whole week and a half since the battle in the dining room of the Bakuhatsuba castle, and they say it's gonna take at least two months to rebuild since the whole damned roof came off the place.

No sight of the queen and king either was brought to his attention, and Bakugou was losing the bud of hope he had left for their return. As soon as the castle is rebuilt, he would become King instantly since he's the rightful heir to the throne. The youngest King in history, 17 year old Bakugou Katsuki.

The only good thing that has happened in the past three weeks is becoming friends with Kirishima and the other creatures of the forest. A supposed dragon prince with all sorts of special abilities. He... He could use someone like that...

Katsuki had actually known him for years, yet never knew his name or what he was, only that he existed. It was only recently they met again yet it felt too short to be real. It felt like they've been friends for a long time.

Katsuki didn't like to admit it but...it was obvious he was developing a crush on him. It felt too fucking short to like him like that but here he is. He was just getting to know the guy, but he knew he could trust Kirishima with anything for some odd fucking reason.

And his dumbass friends weren't letting him off the hook either. They teased him jokingly, unaware that what they were saying was coming true bit by bit and he didn't like it. He's never had a crush on anyone let alone a boy that wasn't even human.

It didn't matter though...

Katsuki walked through the halls of the castle that he refused to leave. He could hear the drills going on at night and during the day. He couldn't sleep unless he was really tired. He stayed, afraid that if he left for even a minute something bad was gonna happen and it's be all of his fault.

He picked up the broken pieces every day. Continued the princely duties he hated to do but did anyway or else his mom would chew him out. He looked over whatever was left of the paperwork on his mothers and fathers desk. He did everything he could and stayed busy until his parents came back.

It wasn't that long until he received word about the King and Queen...

He cried, genuinely he cried. It wasn't forced, it wasn't physical pain, it was the regret. The guilt of not saving them, or not returning soon enough. The regret of treating him like trash and a burden. He took them for granted, like a coward.

He locked himself in his room for days after that. He refused to eat, saying he didn't need the energy if all he was good for doing was nothing. But after Mina and Kaminari beat some sense into him, he regained his appetite.

Kirishima was always around him too. He actually busted his door down after the funeral because he was worried about him. If he wasn't so heartbroken and guilty he might've laughed and called him an idiot and demanded to fix his door. But he was too deep into grieving to even say a thing like that. Depressed and full of regret. He would take the pity he didn't want now, but he'd have to move on sooner or later. It just isn't healthy.

Bakugou laid in his bed, twisted up in a cocoon of blankets as the late afternoon sunlight illuminated his dull white room. His head filled with the nightmares and the past events that's haunted him until all the pent up sadness turned into anger and frustration.

With a groan and a curse word, he slowly made his way out of bed and over to the mirror.

"Fucking pathetic," he murmured. The casual clothing looked too baggy on him and his face was red and stained with tears. His eyes were a light pink and his skin paler that usual. The fierce and strong gaze he had was reduced to a lazy annoyed glance. His hair laid flat on his head, like all the explosiveness it naturally had was dunked with water. His chubby cheeks were sunken and dark bags made its way from the corner of his dull red eyes.

He lick his chapped lips before slapping himself in the face.

"Get your fucking shit together Katsuki!" he screamed hoarsely. With a grunt, he took a towel and a pair of underwear and took a shower. He brushed his teeth and towel dried his messy hair, making it spiky again. He stomped into his bed room and pulled out a formal princely uniform and put I on. It was a burgundy color and it had a gold chain running across his chest as the a gold epaulette on the left shoulder. He slipped on his white gloves and black dress shoes. When he was done, he looked in the mirror. He still looked tired as ever, but his piercing gaze was back and he was determined to be a good ruler.

He didn't feel any different though. He still felt drained and sad but like they say: fake it till you make it. So if he had the fake the confidence and the harshness he once had, he would. He was not gonna half ass anything that came his way.

With a confident stride and a determined face, he stepped out of his room. The guards were surprised to see him let alone see him in full uniform.

The heel of his boot clicked consistently on the hard marble floors as he arrived to the dining room. The guards pushed open the doors and revealed a mess of construction. Blood and ash still littered the floors but the ceiling looked halfway complete. With a satisfied grunt, he left and made his way to his once parents office now his own.

There was no guard in this wing, and he glad there wasn't. He opened the door himself.

Kirishima and Mina and Kaminari were in his office on the black leather couch. Kaminari was in the middle, having both of their attention as he held a book in his hand.

"So basically, this paragraph is talking about a boy who was genetically engineered to protect the princess of the ship. He isn't supposed to have emotions yet he fell in love with her which is taboo," he explained, both of their eyes wide with curiosity.

"Wow! You can read that?! That's amazing!" Mina praised, snatching the book out of his hand and examining it.

"Pikachu," Bakugou gruffly said, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. Kaminari gulped and Kirishima's face turned a different color.

"Y-Yes..?" Kaminari snapped to attention. Bakugou walked over to him and eyed him up and down, nothing on his features giving anything away. Bakugou stared down at him and after invoking intimidation on the boy, he fixed his button that was irritating.

"Pay attention next time you put on your uniform. We ain't fucking slobs." Bakugou pulled down his own shirt that can to his waist before sitting down at his desk. "Hire a few tutors for the little forest fucks. If they plan on surviving in this world with humans, they at least have to know how to fucking read. Understand?"

"Y-Yessir!" Kaminari smiled sheepishly, still recovering from the fact that Bakugou hadn't killed him for being in his office. The ashy blonde waved him off and Mina went with him, but he didn't miss the wink she sent Kirishima's way.
