One day, she will kill him. One day, she'll end our misery, I think to myself.
He deserves to die. He should've been killed long ago, but no. Nobody killed him long ago. Or anytime for that matter. She keeps saying she will, but she never does.
I look at his pitiful body lying on the ground. But if those bars weren't there, if they didn't exist, he'd kill anyone and everyone. His name, is Lithingdar.
Now, you may be wondering, who has a name like this? Who is she? What did Lithingdar do? Why do bars separate him from the world?
Well, it all started five years ago. Lithingdar is at a very powerful stage. He just ripped apart a town and is killing its inhabitants.
In one house, down, down in the bunker, sits a woman and her son. She hugs her son tight, and whispers three words to him. "I love you."
He looks up at her. Sad puppy dog eyes. He asks. "Are we going to die?"
She looks down. She knows they might, but she could never tell him that."I won't let us die sweetie," she assures him.
As soon as those words leave her mouth, the building above them came crashing down.
Her son looked her in the eye, and cried. She looked at him remembering her promise to him.
Footsteps filled the silence. She held her breath. She knew it was him but tried not to show the terror hidden inside. No one has ever been in Lithingdar's presence and lived to tell the tale.
Lithingdar looked around the room. In a deep, raspy voice, he said, "I know you're in here. You have two options. We can do this the easy way, and you can simply step out into the open. Or, we can do this the hard way. Your pick."
Silence. She would never speak to that demonic beast. Never unless she was facing death, though she might be.
Lithingdar is patient however
He was waiting for her to reply. She covered her son's mouth. She couldn't risk it.
Lithingdar just stood there. The woman knew he wouldn't move until she either spoke, or stepped out. She, would do neither.
"Make your move, I'm tired of waiting. If you dont move soon, I'll no doubt kill you in an instant. If you simply cooperate, I may spare you," he threatens.
No, she thinks. He lies, tricks, and doesn't spare. He could care less if she lived or died. But her mouth spoke before her mind thought.
"Fine," she heard her voice say.
Lithingdar was taken by surprise at her sudden bravery. He quickly shook it off. "Ok then, what do you choose? Easy way, or hard way?"
She sets her son on the floor, and holds a finger to her lips. He nods.
She slowly rises and steps out to face Lithingdar.
"You've got some nerve, standing up to me," he smiles. "Only one so far."
She looks at him. Into his green-gray eyes.
"Ooh, you are willing to look me in the eye, eh? Brave young lady."
"Oh yes I am," she says.
"Talking to me I see."
She nods.
"I see. But, you havent fulfilled my wishes."
"I haven't?" She wrinkles her brow. "I stepped out like you wanted."
"Yes, of course. But your son," he says.
