Now for the story...

They stare at me through the bars everyday. They keep on saying they will kill me but they obviously havent. It's been five years since they locked me up and I havent seen the outside world since. The only things I have seen are the woman, my cell, and Mel.

Mel walks into the room and walks over to the woman. She whispers something into her ear which I didn't hear of course. The woman nods and Mel walks up to the bars.

"Hey, uh, Lithingdar?" Mel says.

"That's me," I reply.

"I just wanted to tell you something," Mel says.

"Well, I got nothing better to do, so go on." I sigh.

"I had a dream-" I cut her off.

"I know," I interrupt.

"You do?" Mel asks.

"Yes."

"Well, how?" She looks confused.

"Because I made you dream it." I explain.

"So, you have the power to do things, potentially escape even, but you would rather make me a dream than use it for something useful?" She says.

She makes a point, though truth be told, my abilities could never get me out even if I tried.

"Well, it doesnt exactly work that way-" I begin only to be interrupted by her foolish teenage self.

"Well then, how do they work?" She pushes.

"You dont understand, Mel," I say. "I couldn't get out if I tried as hard as I could. My abilities just dont work that way." I sigh.

"Oh, well but why make me dream of that? Why not something else?" She asks as if expecting me to tell her the truth which might be too hard for her to understand.

"Because that was my vision I had. So I figured you might let me out if you believed it." I say.

"And why might I believe you?" Mel asks to which I take no offense.

"Well because I speak of the truth. I wouldn't lie to you, Mel."

"Why would I believe a murderer?" Again, no offense taken.

"Well, because in five years, maybe I've learned a few things."

"Oh really?" She cocks her head to the right and challenges me.

"Yes, I have learned many things."

"Hmm," she thinks. "Well, I suppose, though I can't be too sure. Why would you actually believe that we might actually fall in love in the future? And have kids?"

"Why, all my visions have come true so far, so why wouldn't this one?" I ask. Which is of course the truth. I saw when I was five, that I would end up here one day, and look at me now.

"That is weird. But I suppose."

"Why do you keep saying suppose?" I ask. "If I'm being honest, I don't like it because it makes it seem as though, you don't trust me." I use a tone so it makes it seem as though I actually meant it.

"Well, it's out if habit if you must know. And I do trust you speak the truth, but I just dont trust you that much. However."

"However?" I gesture for her to continue.

"However, if you give me a good reason to trust you, I might help you," she says.

"Then a good one you will get," I say.
