Chapter 5

As I walked purposefully toward the training room with my head held high, I heard whispers follow me, but I took no notice.

"Jin! Long time no see!" A woman's voice called out from behind me, and I turned, grinning, to see Sapphire lounging against the wall.

Sapphire is part of the Group called the 'Crystal Thieves'. It’s just a handful of thieves who cared about rare jewels. She was the second oldest out of her sisters. When I came here to with my father, she abducts me and makes me wear ridiculous dresses.

"Are you going to leave me alone?" I asked, as was tradition with us.

"Not today, Jin," She grinned back.

"Come on." I pleaded.

"Sorry, but nope!" She said.

"Fine, but only one dress,"

After a few minutes of torture I finally was able to put on the dress.

"Jin, you look adorable," She said while winking and continued laughingly.

I ripped the dress off and was on my way to see Uncle Ron. I heard a strange noise. And turned around but nothing was there. I spun around to my normal objective. As I turned, I almost tripped over something and only just managed to say on my feet. I looked accusingly downwards, finding the object of my near fall.

"Sorry!" she said quickly, getting up from her seated position and looking apologetic.

It was Diamond the Queen of Jewels; she was named this because she’s the leader of the Crystal Thieves. She’s the oldest of the sisters.

"I'm fine," I assured her, letting it go.

"It's good to see you again," She said sincerely.

"Same here," I nodded.

"Why are you so tried? Oh, did Sapphire have you wear a dress again."

"Y-yes, no..., yes she did"

"Got to say no, Jin. Oh and my father's is waiting for you"

I smiled and nodded, quickly hurrying to the training room before any more embarrassing incidents. The Thieves Guild training room was fully equipped with chest locked at various difficulties for lock pick training and targets for archery.

I walked into the familiar room in which I had spent most of my hours perfecting my lock picking skill, and met the eyes of an old and dear friend. The big ears Guild master, who was leaning on the far wall, did a double take and looked at me in a disbelieving way.

"You weren't expecting me?" I asked, grinning mischievously.

Uncle Ron smiled back, used to my humor. He approached me, hesitantly at first, and then suddenly hugged me. I squeezed him back tightly, surprised at how much I'd missed him.

"Jin, you look as strong as ever," He said as I pulled away, and hit his arm jokingly.

"Watch it, Uncle Ron, I might have broken your back," I warned happily. Uncle Ron gripped my shoulders and looked intently into my eyes.

"I've missed you, lad. The guild just isn't the same with your father," He said seriously in his lilting accent.

"You mean without my father's income?" I said wisely, grinning at him.
