Chapter 1

Elijah paused how was he going to tell her that he is a vampire.
"I'm human." Elijah lied. Elena shook her head. "We both know that's a lie. - I saw you today. - you were staring in at Jeremy Jenna and I. - then you were gone the next." Elena challenged. Elijah then looked back at his siblings. The all gave a nod. "My siblings and I are vampires." Elijah then spoke. Elena wasn't that surprised just a little. And little scared. Which Elijah picked up on. "We won't hurt you or your family. - I give you my word." Elijah spoke. Elena just stood there. "I'm going to need some time. - I won't tell anyone." Elena said. Elijah gave a nod. They brought in the coffees. While Elena was lost in thought everyone else was talking. Elena couldn't help but think about the fact that they had vampires in the house. Processing it. Why did aunt Jenna invite them? Elena now thought. Elena's heartbeat started to race. So Elena decided to go for a walk. "Aunt Jenna may I be excused while I go for a walk?" Elena now asks while hoping she didn't sound panicky. Jenna have a nod.

Elena was walking down the street thinking trying to clear her head. Which wasn't working. She wasn't watching were she was going and she bumped into somebody. "Katherine?" Stefan asks. Elena looked at him confused. "No. - I'm not Katherine." Elena spoke. "Please don't give me that. - I know your game." Stefan now said. "I'm telling you. - I am not this Katherine person." Elena repeated. Kol went out for a hunt. Over heard their conversation. Decided to make his presence known. "Elena. - are you okay?" Kol now concerned for his brothers love interest. Elena turned around. "Kol? What are you doing here?" Elena now asks. "I was hungry. - so I decided to go on a hunt. - Elijah's promise stands. - I won't hurt you." Kol now said. Stefan watched the exchange between the original and the doppelgänger. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you Elena. - my advice is stay away from Kol and his family." Stefan spoke. Then spoke too low for Elena to hear. "You just outed is." Stefan spoke. "She guessed. - and Elijah confirmed it" Kol smirked. "You know what we are. - just trust me stay away from them. - they will hurt you." Stefan said. Elena shook her head. "They haven't so far. - and Elijah gave me his word that none of his family would hurt me or my family. - but can I say the same for you." Elena then turned around to Kol. "Come on. - I'm hungry. - lets go to the grill. - I text Jenna to come and invite Elijah Klaus and Rebekah." Elena said. Kol gave a nod. And a smirk to Stefan.

Stefan now swished back to the boarding house. "We have a problem." Stefan now spoke. Caroline Bonnie And Damon looked at him. "What is it?" Caroline asks. "There's a new doppelgänger. - and she is friendly with the original's." Stefan spoke. "And you think Klaus is going to go after her?" Caroline now didn't like the idea of her boyfriend killing someone just to become a hybrid. Stefan gave a nod. Caroline shook her head. " I don't believe that he would. - in fact he told me that Elijah has been more alive than ever since he has seen her." Caroline now got up and swished off. Stefan tried to stop her. But he couldn't she had swished out before he could get to her.
Caroline swished to the grill. Walked up to the table that Gilbert's and the Mikaelson's were at. "Klaus can I talk to in private?" Caroline asks. Klaus gave a nod. And they went outside. "Please tell me your not going to kill her?" Caroline now asks. "I am not. - I gave my word to Elijah. - and I meant it. - Elena is the very reason why Elijah is more alive than ever. - and I won't take that away from him." Klaus now spoke. "Stefan?" Klaus now asks. Caroline gave a nod. "Come on in. - and join us." Klaus spoke. "Next time I promise. - go and have fun." Caroline spoke. And swished off again. Klaus went back in. And apologized for his absence.

The next day Elena went down for breakfast. She saw Rebekah there. "Oh good your finally up." Rebekah spoke. "My family and I would love for you to come over this morning and have breakfast with us." Rebekah said. Elena smiled. I get to see Elijah. She thought. " I would love to. - let me get dressed." Elena turned around and ran back upstairs. Threw on an old pair jeans and T-shirt and ran back down. "Um your shoes." Jeremy laughed. Elena shook her head. And ran upstairs put on her runners and came straight back down. "Right. - I'm ready." Elena said. Rebekah smiled. "Bye Jer." Elena said. Elena and Rebekah didn't wait for Jeremy to say anything back. They left Elena couldn't wait to see Kol Elijah Klaus again. Especially Elijah. "Someone's excited." Rebekah stated. All Elena could do was give a nod. She was too excited to speak. Rebekah laughed. "So your excited to see Elijah then?" Rebekah asks. Elena looked over at Rebekah. "How did you know?" Elena asks. "It will all be explained. - during breakfast." Rebekah answered. Elena had a feeling they knew she thought Elijah was gorgeous.

Rebekah and Elena arrived at the mansion. Elena looked in awe of the place. "It looks wonderful." Elena spoke. Rebekah laughed. "If you think that's good. - then wait until you see the inside." Rebekah got out of the car. Before Elena could open the passenger door it was opened for her already. With Elijah holding the open for her. "Thank you Elijah." Elena now blushed. And tried to cover her face. Elijah didn't allow that to happen. "Don't cover yourself. - you look beautiful." Elijah now spoke. Rebekah went inside and left them both.
Elena couldn't help but look at Elijah. And finally take in the sight of him. "Thank you Elijah. - how are you?" Elena now spoke. "I'm very good thank you. - and you lovely Elena how are you?" Elijah now neared Elena who was standing a feet or two away. "I'm good thank you. - and hungry" Elena laughed. Elijah liked hearing Elena laugh. It was like the best thing he heard all morning long apart from hearing inviting Elena over. Elijah now looked at Elena. "We better head in. - and get you some food." Elijah now held out his hand for Elena to take. She took it. And they went inside.

Over the past few hours Elena learned of how they were turned. Klaus being there half brother. Klaus's wolf side was locked with someone that looked a lot like her. Learning that Klaus needs to kill her. But he won't do it. Learning that she is a doppelgänger. Learning that they all heard her conversation with her friend Betty. It like a lot to take in. She had also learned that Elijah's girlfriend Haley had died. And they moved back to Mystic Falls from New Orleans. Klaus has a girlfriend. That Stefan and Rebekah are seeing each other. Kol is single as is Elijah. Stefan's brother Damon is seeing a witch called Bonnie. And that more and likely will try and get Elena away from the originals. And Katherine is a doppelgänger vampire. "So that's the reason why Stefan thought I was Katherine?" Elena asks. They all gave a nod. "Why did you and Jeremy leave New York?" Elijah asks.
Elena teared up. "Our parents. - they were in a car crash. - they were picking me up from my friends Camila place. - and drunk driver ran a red light and crashed into us. - Jenna is the only family we have left." Elena spoke.
