Chapter 4

Elena sat down. She didn't want to leave her family. But she knew she had to for her safety. Jeremy day down beside his sister. " I know this isn't going to be easy. - but for you to be safe. - it's the best decision." Jeremy now spoke. "If there was away for them to believe I'm here. - until Elijah and I sneak off." Elena now sighed. Not noticing Katherine sitting down in front of them. "Well duh there is. - me" Katherine said. Elena and Jeremy smiled. "That's brilliant Katherine." Elena now hugged her doppelgänger. Katherine hugged Elena back. "We need to teach them a lesson or two."!Katherine said still hugging Elena. "That we do. - and they will learn their lesson." Elena said. Not noticing that Stefan dropped something off at the door. Stefan smiled. And swished away. Remembering why he agreed to help Damon.
Damon swished over to a drawer. He took out the last ever white oak stake. "If you don't help me. - I will kill your girlfriend."Damon threatened. This gave Stefan no choice until he get the white oak stake away from Damon. "Fine." Stefan huffed away.
Elena now noticing something at the door. Elena walked over to the box. And opened it. She screamed and dropped the box. Elijah swished over to the box. "That a white oak stake. - thought there wasn't anymore." Elijah said. Elena noticed a note. She read it.
This is the last white oak stake there is.
Damon had it. Burn it Elena. Don't let the originals touch it.
Elena read it out loud. Elena did just that.

Stefan swished home. Damon and Bonnie looked at him. Stefan didn't bother stepping into the boarding house. "You want Elena Damon. - get her yourself. - I'm done." Stefan spoke. "Fine. - you leave me no choice then Stefan." Damon swished over to the drawer to find it empty. "Where is it Stefan?" Damon asks. Katherine Rebekah and Elena walked up. "Burnt." Elena smirked. Stefan looked at Rebekah. "I had no choice. - Damon threatened to kill you with it." Stefan spoke. Rebekah gave a nod. But stayed in front of Elena. "We talk later." Rebekah said. Stefan smiled. "You haven't won." Damon said. "Oh yea. - and how are you going to know which one is which? - am I Elena? Or am I Katherine?" Katherine asks in Elena's voice. "Your Elena." Damon smirked. "Your Katherine." Stefan said. "2 points to Stefan. - 0 points to Damon." Elena smirked. Shit they have point. Damon thought. Bonnie was about to use her powers on the vampires. But they swished away. Stefan was at the door. "Stefan will you please come in." Elena now said. And Stefan walked in. "He was protecting Rebekah. - Damon threatened to kill her with the stake." Katherine quickly explained to Elijah and now a returning Kol and Klaus. "Kol and I have business to attend to in New Orleans. - will you guys be okay?" Klaus spoke. Elijah gave a nod. Knowing all too well the business they had to attend to. After an hour or two. Stefan and Rebekah walked back in holding hands. "Paris. - Enzo is a friend of mine and Damon's. - he will help. - I've messaged him. - and it turns out that Damon and Enzo has a fallen out." Stefan said. Elijah gave a nod. "Elena?" Elijah asks. "I've always wanted to see Paris." Elena beamed.

Elijah smiled. A real smile in what seemed like a lifetime. "So when do we leave?" Elena now excited to be going to Paris. "Tonight. - get packed. - and I'll sort everything out." Elijah smiled. Elena raced off to her room and started packing. I can't believe I'm going to see Paris. And be alone with Elijah. Elena smiled at that thought. Especially that last part. Elijah was happy. He loved Paris. But now he get to be there with his love. Whether she knows it or not. But he knew he couldn't go there. Even though he wanted to. Elijah shook his head. "Hey. - you okay?" Katherine asks. Elijah looked at her. "I'm fine." Elijah lied. "You want to be with her. - so what's stopping you?" Katherine spoke. With Elijah's back turned towards the stairs and Katherine seeing Elena. "She is smart, kind caring loving person. - I'm a monster. - I will only hurt her." Elijah answered unaware that Elena had heard him. "So Klaus was right. - there was another reason. - did you ever think about what I would want Elijah?" Elena now dropped her bag at the front door. Then sat on the love seat. Elijah sighed. He walks over to Elena. "It's not what it sounds like. - after Haley. - I went on a killing spree. - I'm afraid. - that I could hurt you." Elijah said. "But your okay to come to Paris with on your own." Elena scoffed.

"Rebekah will go with you to Paris." Elijah stated and walked off. Elena shook her head. "There you go again. - making decisions for me. - I don't wan Rebekah to come with me. - I want you. - I need you to come with me. - I trust you Elijah. - there isn't anyone else that I want to come with me." With every word that Elena spoke she was nearing Elijah. Klaus is right I have to make the first move. Elena thought. Elena closed the distance between them. Until there lips met. Klaus smiled while thinking. This is what Elijah deserves. Elijah kissed Elena back. Elena pulled away. Only for Elijah to pull Elena in for another one. They pulled apart. "Okay. - as you wish my lovely Elena." Elijah smiled. As he pulled Elena to his side. Elena beamed. As Elijah kissed the top of her head.

A few hours later. Klaus kissed his girlfriend goodbye. Kol was excited that he would he be seeing his girlfriend in New Orleans. Kol has missed Davina. Even though they talk everyday for two hours a day. But it wasn't the same. Katherine got ready. She straightened her hair put on Elena's clothes and wore her make up just like Elena. She had Elena's voice down. Her personality was going to be a bit tricky. But Katherine knew she will manage. She will get it. After spending nearly a full day with Elena she seen how she is. Katherine Stefan and Rebekah went out. They distracted Damon and Bonnie while Elena and Elijah snuck off to the airport. Elena now reaches over and grabs Elijah's hand. Elijah gave her hand a little squeeze and Elena smiled. Elijah took his eyes off the road for a second to look over at Elena. They were passing the grill and Elijah noticed Damon Bonnie arguing with Stefan and Rebekah who were in front of Katherine. "Duck down." Elijah whispered and Elena did.
