Li Na's POV:

I walked into the garden, smelling the fresh air and the smell of roses around me. As I walked around, I saw Sicheng sitting on a small bench with his eyes closed. I walked up to him slowly, the rustling of leaves alerting him as he opened his eyes and saw me standing in front of him. "Morning." He said sweetly. "Morning." I said before taking a seat beside him. "I see you were looking for me." He said, making me shy. "I uh..no?" I said, not able to get much out.

"I'm just joking." He laughed it off, seeing my struggle. I laughed awkwardly and waited for anything to be said between us to get rid of the awkward silence. "So are you coming to school with us?" He said, bringing me back into reality. "Yeah, I guess I have to don't I?" I said, sighing. "Don't worry, I am sure we will have a few classes together, along with Kun and Ten. If you need anything we can help." He said kindly. "Thank you, it means a lot." I said, not sure what else to say as I had never been offered such kindness before.

"It's what I'm here for, we look out for each other." He said, smiling gently. I spoke my mind, not thinking as I blurted out what I really wanted to ask. "How come you are so comfortable around me?..at least you seem that way. The other guys tell me you are the shy one." I said. He sat there for a moment as if he were thinking deeply on what to say. "Well, I feel you and I are the same in some ways. I feel a weird connection with you like maybe we came from the same place." He tried to explain.

I looked into his eyes as he spoke, understanding everyword. I wasn't about to ask his story, neither was he to me. We decided to keep our stories to ourselves for now, sitting in silence instead as we thought on what had been said. Eventually we were called inside for breakfast. We both went inside and joined everyone at the table. We ate quickly and got ready for school. I dreaded the moment the bus finally came. As we all got on the bus, Sicheng wanted me to sit by him but before I could make it there, I was dragged into another seat by Hendery.

I looked back at Sicheng and shrugged before turning back to Hendery. "You can sit with me." He said happily. I just smiled and turned to face the front of the bus as he went on and on about random stuff the entire ride to the school. The moment the bus stopped, I sighed in relief as I realized we had made it to the school. I got up and followed everyone off of the bus. Kun took me by the arm along with Sicheng and Ten, leading me to the office to help me get my schedule. "How can I help you?" The old receptionist said. The three boys pushed me forward, making me stumble as I answered.

"I'm the new student, I need to pick up my schedule." I said. She nodded and got my information before leaving and returning with a sheet of paper in hand. "Here it is. Also have this signed by your parent or guardian and bring it back to the office as soon as possible." She said, handing me another sheet. I nodded and bid her goodbye before walking out, followed by the boys who were trying to look over my shoulder at my schedule. "Ah, we have the same gym class and art class." Sicheng said.

"And we have the same english class." Kun chimed in. "We have the same science class at least. And all of us have drama together" Ten said. "I am thankful to even have a class with any of you. It is hard going to a new school." I said. The all patted my shoulder and assured me everything would be okay. As we walked down the hallway together, I saw a group of girls eyeing me, giving me dirty looks. As soon as they saw the boys however they were basically drooling. I rolled my eyes and walked ahead of the boys as Ten went to try to flirt with one of them.

I felt Sicheng behind me as he tried to keep up. I realized that now we would have gym together first thing in the morning. "Let me help you find it." He said, catching up to me. He grabbed my arm and lead me to the gym, people giving me strange looks along the way. "Okay, this is it...and don't worry, gym class is easy." He said, smiling as he opened the door for me. I thanked him and went inside, a bunch of people's eyes landing on me. Some out of judgment, some out of curiosity and some out of admiration.

I stood awkwardly as Sicheng walked up to me, letting me know where to go. I walked over and gave the gym teacher my schedule to look at and introduced myself. "Alright everyone, this is our new student Li Na, please make her feel welcome." It was only then that I looked around and saw the same mean girls from earlier, still staring at me. Well this should be a fun semester. I walked over to Sicheng and stood beside him since I didn't know anyone else. Soon the teacher instructed us all to do laps around the gym.

As I was beside Sicheng, talking to him as we jogged together until one of the mean girls shoved me, almost making me fall as she ran through, the other girls doing the same as the followed her laughing. "Are you okay?" Sicheng said gently. I stopped for a moment and told him I would catch up. As I waited the girls came back around so I took the chance to trip her. She fell hard on the floor, everyone laughing at her. "Oops." I said as Sicheng ran up to me to check on me. She eyed me evily as I looked back, realizing I had just made an enemy but she did as well.
