20. workin baby

Axls pov:

After we've finished dinner, Slash takes Marley and sits down on the couch.

I just sigh and start doing the dishes.
After five minutes, Slash looks up from his phone, "lemme help you babe." He says.

He starts drying the last three plates.

"You look beautiful tonight." He says once we're done and softly pushes me against the counter.

"Hmm, I thought I looked beautiful every night?" I say playfully and pull him closer.

He kisses me.
I kiss him back.

He puts my hair behind my ear and rests his hand on my neck.

I pull him even closer. I look at the clock as our mouths part.

I need to leave in 5 minutes, but fuck it.

I cup his face with my hands. I see his eyes looking in my left eye, then in my right eye, and so on.

I lean in to kiss him again as his phone rings.

He kisses me quick and goes to his phone.

"Hey Amanda!" He says and walks into the bedroom without looking at me.

I put the towel away and sit down on the couch.

"Hey, Amanda and I are going to a bar." Slash says after a couple minutes when he's done calling.
"You wanna come too?" He asks.

"I need to work." I say with a blank face.

I'm so fucking mad at him right now. He knows I need to work, he knows I hate bars.

"Oh, can't you take a day off?" He asks.

I know he means it well, but I'm just so tired.

"We still need to pay bills." I say.

Slash scratches the back of his head.

"Is it okay if I go?" He asks.

"Sure, what about Marley tho?" I ask, wondering what he will say.

"Well, I can't take her with me to a bar. Can't you take her with you?" He says.

"Sure, let me just take her with me to a 7-eleven at night time, while she should be asleep, and let her interact with crackheads and drunk people." I say really sarcastic.

"You took her with you this morning." He says.

"Because you were passed out on our neighbour's couch." I say.

"I'm stuck home, day in day out. Is it so hard to let me have some fun?" He says.

"That's not what I'm saying." I say.
Slash rolls his eyes and looks the other way.

"I'll take her with me." I sigh and get up.

"Thank you, you're the best!" He says and kisses me.

"Come on Mar-mar. Lets get you some toys." I say.

Marley walks up to me and holds my index finger with her hand.

We walk to her room.

"I want to take dinosaur! And dolly!" She says. She doesn't have a lot of toys, but she loves them all.

"I'm going! Bye babe!" I hear Slash say.

"When will you be home?" I say, the only thing I hear is the door closing.

I sigh. I take Marley's jacket and put it on her. I'm already in my uniform.

"Lets go baby." I say, I pick her up.
