So I'm adding in the additional info I put in for the colleges. I did this and posting this cause I have ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder, but I didn't include it in my essay above because this does not define me or who I am. I understand everyone has similar understanding and also different symptoms as I do. No, I'm not faking having this to get medication, I've been diagnosed with ADD since I was 8 years old and stiff have this problem. Well...enjoy

Although I did not mention it in my essay, I feel it is important to inform you that I suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). I was eight years old when I was diagnosed and I began medication after a couple of years of attempting alternative treatments. This has made my day-to-day a challenge. At eight years old, it was a scary experience to feel a loss of control of your mind, your body, and your focus. Being medicated so early in life was a curveball; I had no idea how to adjust and honestly, how to function. In school, I must always make sure I am hyper-focused on the task at hand and minimize distractions to prevent it from becoming a recurrent problem. That being said, to me, this isn't a disability. I refuse to let it define me, and although it is an obstacle I must manage on a daily basis, I see it as a motivation to work even harder than normal, because, in the end of the day, success is measured by those who achieve without excuses, not those who let their situations get the best of them.
