"Right. We're here."
~???? POV~
We were at the Healer's den faster than I expected us to be there. The pain was too much for me, but I kept quiet. I didn't want to seem weak to the older mermaid that led me.
As we entered the den, the Healer swam up to me with a worried look on his face and started to look at my wounds. I flinched at his touch and hid my face with my hands.
"What happened, child?" He asked
"She didn't say a word. I only found her on top of my plantation." The older woman said with a half-tired, half-worried voice. "And she was bleeding heavily when I got to her." The merman looked at my torn up fin and went to a drawer in the back of the room that was behind a curtain of sea weed. He got a medical needle and thread and bandages and went over to me to leave the tools and then went over to a different drawer and took numbing cream and came over to me. I flinched while he put the numbing cream on my fin and tail.
After a few minutes the Healer started stitching me up while explaining something to the other mermaid. I was leaning on her and was half asleep.
"Hey, kiddo. You're stitched up and ready to go to sleep." She said, smiling. She picked me up and said goodbye to the other merman.
~TIME SKIP~
In the morning I woke up, feeling better. I realized where I was and what I was doing there. I was behind a curtain of seaweed, covered with the older mermaid's fin. I was very sleepy, my head felt fuzzy and my tail felt a little numb from the numbing cream.
"Good morning... How did you sleep?"
The older woman's voice rang in my ears, with her sounding a little tired, but mostly calm. I nodded.
"G-good morn-ning... I s-slept well."
"Good..."
She answered, tucking back some strands of her dark green hair behind her ears*. She smiled at me and introduced herself.
"Yashido Yatakami, at your service! Rank seven of the Polygon Castle, making me a higher-stated civilian"
She explained while rubbing my back to calm me down more. I smiled back at her genuine, calm and loving smile, making me feel safe under her touch.
~Yatakami P.O.V.~
The girl had smiled back at me, calm glistening in her eyes. Those beautiful, yet fear-inducing cyan eyes.
~ TO BE CONTINUED! ~
I'm sorry to not have posted in a very long while! I was busy with school, and oh BOY do you know how many nightmares I had of being kicked out of the house because I didn't have an "A" on one of the tests. I'm sorry to have left this on a very stupid-looking cliffhanger, but I need my sleep.
*ears- I didn't mean human ears, I meant those weird and at the same time cool fins that rest on the sides of mermaid's faces.
Thank you very much for reading. Goodbye, my lovelies!
