Its been a week. We can't find a way to turn back. Mom hasn't come back either. Everyone is scared of us. Not that I can blame them. Due to Katsuki's quirk, the three of us are sorta turned into scarecrows...
No one likes us.
Except us. We're friends.
More than friends.
We're basically family.
I love them. Not in a weird way.
I stare into the mirror, tracing the stitch line that is my mouth with my finger. I'm still not used to it. My skin is more like a sort of fabric, covered in dark green patches, similar to my hair. Replacing my freckles are black buttons, in the exact same pattern. Similar to the other two, I have a button placed over my nose, but mine is a yellow-green color in the shape of a circle.
Ms. Nikko says its cute. I'm not sure why, everyone else says we're scary. But being cute is better than scary, so I guess if she thinks we're cute, it's not to bad.
I'm hungry. I should go eat breakfast.
I still don't know how I can eat like this...
[Ochaco pov]
I open my eyes slowly, welcoming the morning light. I sit up and raise my arms up, stretching. My roommate isn't here. Maybe she went to breakfast already. I hope she did, she's really mean about me being quirkless, and this new form.
I like our new forms, but it would be better if people didn't hate us. We didn't ask for this.
"Oh, the quirkless scarecrow is awake" spits Watashi, my roommate.
Oh. She was behind my bed, where I couldn't see her.
"Please just leave me alone.."
"And if I don't? Your not gonna tell, are you? You never tell anyone"
"Why are you so mean?"
"I'm not mean, you freak. I'm just telling you the reality. No one wants you."
"Izuku and Ejiro want me"
"They're freaks too, so they don't count!"
[Ejiro pov]
Izuku's doing it again. He keeps on staring at himself in the mirror, most likely because of what happened to us. What Bakugou did wasn't manly at all. I approach Izuku, and tap his shoulder, "hey, lets go eat breakfast". He nods in agreement.
We walk out of our room and to the table we eat at, met with several stares. People dislike us, because we're quirkless or because of our similarity to a scarecrow, I'm not sure which. It could be both.
Ochaco comes up to us eventually, seemingly beat up. "Ochaco?! Are you alright?!" Izuku asks, as worried as I am, maybe more. "Yeah, Watashi was just being mean again" Ochaco answers him. "Why don't we tell Ms. Nikko? I'm sure she'd help" I say.
My arm is heavy, all the sudden. Not so heavy that I can't move it, but its heavier than normal. I touch it. It's hard, like a rock, instead of being like a soft pillow (results of us being scarecrows). "Uhm, guys? I think I got a quirk after all."
[Time skip]
Turns out, I do have a quirk, called hardening. I can turn any body part hard as rock. But just because I have a quirk now, doesn't mean I'm going to leave my friends just because they're quirkless. We think my quirk activated due to the incident.
We're currently playing with blocks. Ochaco picks one up to put on her tower, but when she puts it on, it starts to float. No one here has a quirk that would make that happen.
We find out that Ochaco has a quirk, too. Her quirk is zero gravity, and she can make things float if she touches it with all five fingers. Izuku's expression seems to darken when he hears the news. "Izuku, is something wrong?" I ask. "It doesn't matter.." he mutters.
"Yes it does."
"I'm quirkless. You and Ochaco... you both have quirks. Powerful ones at that. You should just leave me, I'll only hold you back."
"Are you crazy? We wouldn't leave you, you're our friend. It doesn't matter whether you're quirkless or not!"
Suddenly, Izuku ran up and hugs me. "I don't deserve friends like you guys..."
[Time skip, Izuku pov]
A few days ago, we found out Ochaco and Ejiro have quirks. Surprisingly, they still want to be my friends. Ms. Nikko keeps saying that I'll probably get a quirk soon, because they think that the stress Katsuki's quirk caused on our bodies would force our bodies to adapt and gain quirks.
Logically, it makes sense, but for some reason I still doubt it.
A lot of doctors are saying that I have an intelligence quirk, due to my heightened skill level in most academic subjects.
Jeez, since when did my vocabulary consist of all these complicated words?
"You know, Izuku, I kinda think the doctors are right about you have a smart quirk." Ochaco states. "I mean, you've been saying a lot of big words-" that's exactly what I was just thinking. Your quirk isn't supposed to be mind reading.... "- and Ms. Nikko said you have college level skills in.. well, basically everything"
"Maybe..."
(A/N)
Word count, 843.
Darn. Soon, I'm gonna have to use Google just so that I can make Izuku's vocabulary seem bigger. Again, its short, but eh. Next chapter will be interesting.
