Missing You

The cold air was crisp upon her cheek. She remembered it as if it was yesterday. She walked through the snow, gracefully as she always did, towards Nicole who was sat on the porch. She sat beside her and held her hand within hers. She felt the warmth spread through her veins, and her heart pounded in her chest.

She was overcome by the sadness that she felt, and also the overpowering sense of love for the woman that sat before her.
They talked shortly for a little while, whilst staring into each others eyes adoringly.

"Because I do, Nicole Rayleigh Haught...I really really love you" she said whilst sliding a ring onto her lovers finger.

Waverly snapped back to reality and looked at Nicole in her eyes, which were filled with concern and wonder.

"Nicole. I...uh. I proposed to you...but...but no one told me." she questioned and she paused for a second as she looked at Nicole's face. She may not know her well but she knew that look on her face.

She filled the silence once more. "They don't know do they?" she asked. And her question was answered with a shake of Nicole's head. Nicole knew that she had to explain. The moment was quite spontaneous, and they didn't have time to tell people because it was a few days before the accident. Nicole looked up at Waverly and began to speak.

"No, they don't know." she sighed. "It was a few days before the accident that you asked me. We had discussed telling the others together at the get together once you had finished work, its why we planned it. But, obviously you didn't make it back" she said finally.

Waverly felt a wave of guilt that hit her like a ton of bricks. 'I remember loving her, but I don't have the same feelings I can remember in the past. I don't want to hurt her...but I suppose I already have' she thought to herself.

Nicole must have noticed how overwhelmed Waverly looked, she knew how hard discovering something this big after not remembering something.

"Hey...you know that i'm not going to force you into anything just because you remember. You may not love me anymore, but that is okay...just as long as you are happy" she said as small tears gathered in her eyes. It was definitely something she never wanted to say, but it was true. As long as Waverly was happy, she could live with that.

Waverly smiled, she still felt the weight of peoples expectations but she now knew that Nicole would help her along the way.

The two of them said their goodbyes after a short while. The time had flew by, and they both admitted they needed to get back home. Nicole drove Waverly back to the homestead and got there at about four in the afternoon. Before she drove back home, for the company of Calamity Jane.

At the homestead.

When Waverly got the the homestead, Wynonna was waiting for her. Wynonna had gotten a bit overprotective of Waverly since the accident. Always staying up until she walked through the doors, just to check that she made it home.

"Hey, babygirl. How was your meal with tater-haught?"

Waverly looked at Wynonna with confusion before she spoke. "What? Who's tater-haught?" she asked and paused for a short while until the realization hit her.

"Ohhh, you mean Nicole...Yeah it was uh, great" she said trying to fully comprehend what she had just learned.

Wynonna's face changed to one filled with anger and slight confusion.

"I swear to god babygirl if she did anything to you, i will beat her to hell and back" she exclaimed before Waverly replied quickly, cutting her off.
