Waverly didnt know what was happening. One second she was in a peaceful, uninterrupted dream, and the next, complete chaos. She was woken by pained screams that surrounded the room. She quickly scrambled to her feet in order to see where the screams were coming from, only to realize that it was Nicole.
The redhead was in a deep sleep, but screaming at the top of her lungs. Waverly didn't know what to do. Nicole's body is covered in a sheen of sweat, and she thrashed her hands against the bed viciously.
Waverly knew she had to do something, but she was terrified for the redhead. She had always seen the officer as fearless and proud, but this was a side of her that she never thought she had. 'What could you have been through to make you endure this?' Waverly thought to herself before springing into action.
"Nicole, Nicole...wake up" she said over and over still not getting a response.
She tried again but this time a little louder.
"Nicole!..wake up!" She shouted and Nicole suddenly sprang forward with terror in her eyes. Her bloodshot eyes darted around the room and tears began to gather. The look in her eyes will he something Waverly would never forget, complete and utter terror.
Waverly slowly lifted her hand and turned the redheads chin so that she was facing her, and brushed her auburn hair behind her ear.
There was a silence between them, not awkward, but comforting which allowed the redhead to gather her thoughts. Reality began to set in and the redhead begam to calm.
"Are you okay?" Waverly asked, looking Nicole in the eyes.
A tear escaped the redheads eyes as she knodded in response.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked cautiously, as she didn't want to push the redhead into something traumatic.
Nicole stayed silent for a few minutes, clearly thinking of a response.
"You were used to this you know...every night I would wake up screaming, and you would be there to comfort me. I thought that I was always an inconvenience, constantly waking you up. But you were adamant on staying by my side, even if it meant you didn't sleep either." She said whilst looking into the brunettes eyes adoringly. She knew that Waverly would always be curious if she didnt tell her her life story, but whats the harm, she technically already knew. So she continued.
"Growing up, I never had parents that cared. They didn't even acknowledge that I existed half of the time. But when they did acknowledge me, it was with rage, and violence. I had to hide bruises every day before school, because even though they hurt me, I still felt the need to protect them. There is still a part of me that thinks that I am never going to be good enough, and that's because its all I ever knew growing up...its what I was told every day for eighteen years. But it was worse when they found out I was gay. One of the girls at school outed me, and the school phoned my parents because of the rumors that were circulating, but they obviously didn't care about that. The beatings were even more severe, and I only had one way to numb the pain. So I threw myself into a bottle, and drank my problems away. Until I turned eighteen and I left that living hell without turning back. I worked so hard to forget what my life was before, but the only time I can't, is when I sleep. Every time I close my eyes I am greeted by my fathers fists...and the worst part was that my mother just stood there and watched...everytime. she didn't stop it, she just watched...and thats what breaks me." Nicole's head sank, and she couldn't look Waverly in the eyes. She somehow felt ashamed of her past. The only person that she truly trusted to tell her past to was Waverly. She couldn't bring herself to tell anyone else.
Waverly was silent. It was a lot to process. What could she possibly say to make the redhead feel less hurt.
"I'm sorry that you had to go through that, I couldn't even imagine how it feels" she said sincerely.
Nicole looked up and smiled "And yet every time you still understand, and stay by my side" she said feeling a little better after Waverly comforting her.
Waverly felt the need to help the redhead, staying beside her was not enough. There was a pull inside of her, almost an instinct, to reach her arms around the redhead and melt into her arms. She didn't want to resist anymore...So she gave in.

Waverly moved beside the redhead and wrapped her arms around her softly and gently. Nicole was instantly crippled by the affection and burst out into tears once more. She couldn't hold it in any longer, it was too much to bare. Waverly held onto her tightly, secretly not wanting to let go. Every day she has felt her heart pull closer to the redhead since her last memory, she felt a connection, but she still couldn't remember. She had to remember.

Waverly released her grip on Nicole and they both parted from the embrace. And although she didn't want to admit, Waverly missed the connection, almost craved it again. Waverly looked into Nicole's glimmering hazel eyes and all she could see was love and affection. She was being pulled in again, as if their hearts were magnets, and before she knew it, she pulled Nicole in and locked their lips together. Nicole was cautious at first but she instantly melted at the touch of the brunette. The kiss felt like it lasted forever but still it was far too short. They both pulled away, instantly wanting to feel the connection again. Nicole opened her eyes and looked at Waverly adoringly, before the brunette suddenly pulled her into a hug as she squealed loudly. Nicole was extremely confused to say the least. Until she could finally understand the words coming out of the brunettes mouth.

"I remember, I remember everything" she shouted over and over again whilst she tackled Nicole off the bed and onto the floor.

They both laughed as they lay next to each other on the floor, holding each others hand tightly.
The brunette staddled the redhead and leaned down to plant a passionate kiss on her mouth. Their lips moved together with passion and thirst. They could stay luke this forever. But for now, they parted and stared into wach others eyes lovingly.

"I love you, and im sorry you had to tell that story again. I know how painful it is for you to drag it up again. Amd im glad that you stayed by me, even though I couldn't remember. I love you" Waverly said passionately to the woman that she loved with all of her heart.

Nicole's heart melted with each word that the brunette said, and she replied "I love you...always"
