"I'm what?" I asked, shocked.

"Did I stutter?" the Devil replied. "You are destined to kill God."

"Isn't  that something you should do?"

The Devil laughed. The laugh sounded more like a roar.

"No," he shook his head. "God's an ass but no, that's something you should do. And will do."

"But I don't want to kill God."

"That's not your choice. You will whether you want to or not."

 "Why me?"

The Devil shrugged and rubbed his face. Red sparks appeared where his hand made contact with his glowing face.

"I don't know 'why you'. I don't even know where the prophecy comes from. All I know is that I was supposed to tell you that you will kill God.

"Fine," I said, defeated. "Then how am I supposed to do it?"

The Devil half shrugged and then remembered something. "Well there technically is one way."

"Would you like to clue me in on that?"

"Supposedly there is a knife with the power to kill anything. Me, God, you, anything."

 "Where is it?"

 "I don't know. I said supposedly for a reason. It's only a legend."

"Well how does that help me?"

A small flame flared up in the Devil's hair. "It helps you because if you can find it, you can use it."

"How can I find it?" My patience was running out.

"I don't know myself. Fortunately, the person who forged and hid it is in Hell. I'll see what I can find out."

There was a blinding flash of red light and I was sitting alone. James walked in.

"Who was that guy?" He asked. "What did he want?"

"I- I don't want to talk about it." I was shaking.

"Ok. You want a ride home?"

"No, it's cool. I drove here anyway."

Before I realized, I had already driven home. I sat on my bed.

"What is going on?" I asked myself.

I lay down and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I was standing alone on the peak of a mountain. My clothes were in rags and I had a gash on my forehead. In my right hand was a golden blade as long as my forearm which was giving off a slight glow. "The blade" said the whispers. The ground began to shake.

 "Wake up."

I sat up to see the Devil standing over me. I clasped my hand over my mouth and screamed into it.

"Jesus," I said, "you scared me."

The Devil gritted his teeth. "I hate that guy and if you get scared that easily, this is going to be harder than I thought."

"Whatever," I said. "Why are you here?"

 "I found the blade."

I noticed the Devil's AC/DC shirt and smiled. "Where is it?"

"You're not gonna like the answer."

"I don't like any of this."

"The bottom of the mariana trench."

"Yeah of course. I can't go down there you know."

 "Yeah you can."

The Devil grabbed my shoulder. The world spun and suddenly we were under water. The only light was coming from the Devil. Somehow I could breathe but I could feel the pressure constricting me.

 "There."

He was pointing at a large diamond imbedded in the rock a bit below us. Imbedded in that was the sword from my dream.

"Of course the blade is stuck in there." I said.

I swam down and gripped the hilt. I felt a surge of power flow through me and I yanked the blade, shattering the diamond.

"Woah." I said, staring at the blade.

"Step one complete." The Devil said. grabbing my shoulder again.

Everything spun again and we were back in my room.

"Get some sleep," he said, "we have a lot of work to do."

 I blacked out.
