Chenille's POV

I sat in my office looking over the crowd of people below me. Every high roller and wannabe boss bitch was in the spot tonight buyin' up the bar and tipping our waitresses more than they should. Staring through the one way glass, I shook my head at all of these "big spenders" who knew they had bills to be paid and kids to feed the next morning, but fuck it- that's more money in my pockets so I wasn't complaining. That's nothing new though, I've always been about my money, ever since I was a teenager.

I started selling dope at the young age of sixteen, but as the years passed, that life got old and I wanted better for myself. So I moved down south to Miami, FL where I currently reside.

I walked over to my love seat placed by the security cameras and sat down. Just as I was about to get comfortable, Janelys walked in pulling me up out of my seat.

Janelys has been my best friend since we were kids. We grew up in the same neighborhood together getting into all kinds of trouble. She may be 5 ft. tall, but that little bitch is always ready to turn some shit up. She's the complete opposite of myself. While she's hot tempered and always ready to pop off, I'm more of the type to sit back and observe before I make my next move.

When we used to slang dope back in the day, she was always the bitch we'd call when it was time to ride out. When I decided to get out of the game and move out to Miami I asked her to come along and now here we are. We're both co-owners of our night club Legends and closer than ever.

"Bitch get your ass up, you're not staying stuffed up in this office tonight," she said pulling me towards the stairs by my arm.

"No bitch, I'm perfectly fine right where I'm at!" I protested, already knowing that this was a fight I was going to lose.

Janelys always made me go downstairs to have a drink with her once every weekend. The last time I refused to come downstairs with her crazy ass she had one of the bouncers come and literally carry me out of my office. To say I was pissed would be an understatement.

"No you're not, now get your ass up and don't make me ask twice!" she demanded- glaring at me. I rolled my eyes and mumbled obscenities under my breath, but got up and followed her downstairs.

As soon as I hit the first floor of the jam packed club I regretted bringing my ass down here. The place was going up. Janelys had the DJ playing some reggaeton and everybody was turnt getting it going on the dance floor.

Parties and clubs were never really my thing growing up, I'd much rather be alone doing something productive. I know what you're thinking- me owning a club and not liking parties is pretty contradicting- but it brings in a lot of money and as you can see, I'm very much about my paper.

Janelys must have noticed the hesitation in my face because as soon we reached the door she grabbed my wrist and pulled me over towards the bar. I motioned for the bartender to come over and ordered a glass of Hennessy straight. I was gonna need something strong to get through the night.

Just as I was about to try to make an escape, I felt somebody tap my shoulder. Before I could see them, I recognized the scent of Bali Mango and I immediately knew that it was Nick.

We met Nick about a month after moving to Miami. He was working at a hair salon when we first met him and was looking for something that paid better. After he slayed both mine and Janelys' hair and eyebrows we hired him on the spot. He is now working as our event planner for the club.

"And just where do you think you're sneaking off to chile?" He asked twirling his 36 inch brazilian weave around his index finger while eyeing me suspiciously.

"Nowhere... I was just gonna go to the bathroom," I lied.

"Bitch stop lying, you and I both know your ol triflin' ass was about to go back upstairs and hide out like you always do," Janelys chimed in.

I sighed knowing these two annoying muthafuckas was about to start lecturing me about how I need to stop being so closed off and distant. I tuned them out as I normally did and sipped my Henny that I had been nursing for the past half an hour.

"She probably just need some d*ck, that will turn that lil attitude of hers right around!" Nick yelled over the blaring music.

"I know thats right!" Janelys said laughing in agreeance.

"Fuck both of y'all, don't worry about what I need y'all need to focus on your damn selves!" I snapped rolling my eyes.

"Well somebody just got feisty, but don't worry boo I'm focused on me and I see what I want right there," Nick said with his eyes glued to the entrance of the club.

I turned my attention to where he was staring and the sight almost made me choke on my Henny. You would have thought I'd seen a ghost with the way my jaw was now touching the floor.

I quickly regained my composure as I watched them make their way over. I looked in my best friend's direction to confirm that what I was seeing was real and my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. She looked just as shocked as I did which gave me all the confirmation I needed. I was never really good with seeing old faces, I never knew what to say which only made things awkward so it was obviously my que to leave.

Just as I turned to walk away, I felt a strong pair of arms creep around my waist.

"Leaving so soon?" the deep voice cooed in my ear causing me to freeze in place. I took a deep breath then slipped out of his strong embrace and turned around to see the familiar face of a man that I thought I'd never see again.
